🌱 Long-lasting lessons, not just weightless moments 🌱
A new meta‑analysis out in BMC Medicine (July 22, 2025) looked at 11 randomized trials and found that weight regain often begins around 8 weeks after stopping anti‑obesity medication, with the average person regaining approximately 1.5 kg at 8 weeks, 1.8 kg by 12 weeks, and up to 2.5 kg by 20 weeks—even though most still maintain some net loss by 6 months .
⏳ Whether you were using GLP‑1 receptor agonists like semaglutide or tirzepatide, or other AOMs, the trend was clear: stopping treatment often leads to rebound, especially if initial weight loss was substantial or lifestyle support continued during treatment.
