With guidance from the LCS Health & Wellness Advisory Board, we reviewed what today’s nutrition recommendations mean for older adults. What we found? It’s all about balance: choosing the right protein, prioritizing fresh, whole foods, managing fats and fiber, and supporting brain health through diet.

The start of a new year is a wonderful opportunity for seniors to refocus on wellness and build healthy habits that support a vibrant life. Here are a few simple ways to begin 2026 on a positive note:
Stay Active: Light movement, such as walking, stretching, yoga, or tai chi, can boost balance, mobility, and daily energy.

Choose Nourishing Foods: Add more colorful fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins to support immune health and overall vitality.

Drink Plenty of Water: Staying hydrated is essential for digestion, cognition, and healthy aging.

Get Quality Sleep: Aim for 7 to 8 hours each night to support your body, mind, and memory.
