🚨 Progestin is NOT the same thing as progesterone.

One of the biggest reasons menopausal hormone therapy gets a bad reputation?�People don’t realize there’s a difference between synthetic progestins and bioidentical micronized progesterone.

Yes — certain hormonal therapies have been linked to increased risk of blood clots and breast cancer.

For example, Provera (medroxyprogesterone acetate) — a commonly prescribed progestin — has been shown to:�• Increase clot risk up to 2x�• Increase breast cancer risk
But micronized progesterone? Completely different story.

Micronized progesterone has been shown to:�• Have a neutral to slightly lower clot risk�• Not increase — and may slightly decrease — breast cancer risk�• Effectively treat hot flashes�• Improve night sweats�• Reduce anxiety�• Help with sleep

Not all hormones are created equal.�You deserve to understand the difference between the “good” and the “bad” — and make decisions based on evidence, not fear.
