Happy Health Center Week! 🏥

Community Health Centers began in 1965, thanks to doctors and citizens, who recognized the critical need for affordable primary care in low-income communities. They were funded under President Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty.

Today, they provide comprehensive primary and preventive healthcare services to populations across the nation, saving lives and dollars. Established to ensure all individuals have access to high-quality healthcare, CHCs operate over 16,000 sites nationwide.

Here at Mercy, our therapists utilize many evidenced-based, trauma treatment modalities in helping our clients work through trauma. We have therapists that are trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Brainspotting, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and the ARC (Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency) Trauma Model.
