is a board-certified plastic surgeon who is an active participant in the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Maintenance of Certification Program (Plastic Surgery), a select group of physicians whose members demonstrate a commitment to ongoing self-assessment and lifelong learning to continually improve their patient care and achieve improved clinical outcomes. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) as well as the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), a select group of plastic surgeons who have attained high levels of achievement in cosmetic surgery training, education, and experience, and is also a member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). Dr. Moya is actively involved in teaching his surgical techniques to his colleagues as an invited speaker and/or course instructor at both ASPS- and ASAPS-sponsored conferences. (a Johnson & Johnson company), and having incorporated their innovative technologies (HARMONIC® Ultrasonic Devices, STRATAFIX™ Knotless Tissue Control Devices) into his practice, he is also able to share his expertise on the benefits of their utilization. Dr. Moya grew up in northern Virginia and pursued his pre-med education at Virginia Tech, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Biology. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, and completed his internship and residency training in general surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center of Greater Miami. He then finished his surgical training with a fellowship in plastic surgery from the University of Utah. Upon completion of his training, he joined Geisinger Health System (Danville, PA) in 2002, where he developed its weight loss body contouring program. He was also instrumental in developing Geisinger’s cosmetics program, which eventually led to the construction of the Geisinger Center for Aesthetics and Cosmetic Surgery, of which he was named Director in 2012. After nearly 14 years of employment by the Health System, he decided to leave in 2016 to join Dr. Ernie Normington in his private practice at Lewisburg Plastic Surgery (Lewisburg, PA). Dr. Moya’s current practice is dedicated exclusively to the cosmetic patient, and includes all aspects of aesthetic rejuvenation. His advanced surgical techniques in both the face and body result in improved operative efficiency and recovery. He has many years of experience in weight loss body contouring, and developed his own very successful procedure, the Corset Body Lift (corset trunkplasty), to better treat waistline contouring in many of his patients.
