We guess this little guy must’ve traveled all the way from the South because he heard about our facility being a 3-time Best of Kentucky Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and wanted to see what all the fuss was about! 🏆🏆🏆😂

Introducing Harvesting Hope at Heartland’s Gardens

We are so proud of the creativity, teamwork, and heart behind this special project! Our amazing therapy team, led by Trent, DOR, partnered with the community to bring this vision to life through generous donations and handcrafted garden planters built by Trent himself.

Residents took part in planting, nurturing, and growing beautiful flowers and fresh vegetables — even harvesting ingredients to create their own salad!

This program is about so much more than gardening. It encourages movement, purpose, social connection, creativity, and healing through meaningful hands-on experiences. Watching our residents care for something and see it bloom has been truly inspiring.

At Heartland, we believe hope can grow one seed at a time.

From yard 🌱 to table 🥗… our therapy team is making rehab FUN!

Residents picked and enjoyed fresh radishes, watered flowers, and made salad leaf lettuce while working on swallowing, standing tolerance, fine motor coordination, activity tolerance, and cooking tasks.

Therapy never tasted so fresh! 💚

Today our residents rolled up their sleeves and spent the afternoon making delicious apple and cherry pies together! From filling the crusts to sharing laughs around the table, it was a day full of sweet memories, teamwork, and fun. 🍎🍒
We love creating moments that bring joy, purpose, and a little taste of home to our residents each and every day. Thank you to our amazing staff for helping make activities like this so special!
