Some of the biggest mistakes I see women making after 40...
Your body is "protein centric" meaning it NEEDS protein to function well
Grossly under eating this macronutrient can cause havoc, and often will stall your efforts at losing inches
Most of the women I work with come to my programs making the same mistakes:

Need some motivation today?
Have you ever taken the time to look at what your future might have in store?
I'm sure you have the best of intentions and hopefully have a generally sunny outlook about what your future will be
When I work with new clients I love to do a "future pacing" exercise where you get to envision where/who you want to be in 3 months, 6 months, even a year...
It's a beautiful exercise where you get to get excited about the changes you're making and the path you're beginning
But sometimes it can be even MORE beneficial to look at the flip side

I don't say this to cast judgement or bring negativity, we've all done all of these things and more
I want to lift them up as ways that you might be staying stuck, leaning into old habits and behaviors that aren't serving you
This can be a hard exercise, it can be tough vision to look at, depending on whether you're struggling with pain in your joints, weight loss, maybe you're seeing shifts in your blood work, or starting to notice prediabetic symptoms.....it's important to consider where your current path might lead.
Yes it might be hard, but sometimes visualizing what ๐ง๐จ๐ญ changing will look like in 6 months or a few years, it could be the wake-up call you need to get motivated.
Take a moment to reflect on where your current path may lead if NO changes are made.
And then I challenge you to think of ONE thing you can do this week, ONE change you can focus on to change the trajectory of where you might be heading

NO itโ€™s actually not slowing down because of aging alone!
As you age you tend to LOSE precious muscle mass
Muscle is one of the โ€œBig Threeโ€ when it comes to how high or low your metabolism runs
In order to keep your metabolism pumping your best bet is to add in some strength training ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

Yep, you read that right!
Studies show that you CAN lose weight while eating pretty much anything you wantโ€ฆ
AS LONG AS youโ€™re in a calorie deficit. ๐Ÿฉ
But hereโ€™s the catchโ€”-
Itโ€™s probably gonna suck.
1800 calories of junk food is a lot smaller than 1800 calories of healthier options
Foods high in protein, fiber, and healthy fats will keep you feeling fuller longer, give you more energy, and generally help you to feel AMAZING ๐Ÿคฉ
A donut might satisfy your sweet tooth, but does it fuel your goals?
At the end of the day itโ€™s up to you to decide what fuels you BEST
How you feel is just as important as the number on the scale โค๏ธ

What matters most is how the food makes YOU feel
Did that high sugar treat leave you feeling sluggish or even with joint pain?
Did that protein-packed breakfast fuel your day like a rockstar? ๐Ÿคฉ
The journey to your healthiest weight is all about balance and listening to your body. Eat what makes you FEEL good, not guilty.

Do you ever just wake up and start thinking about the "bad" choices you made yesterday?...
It's like, you can't even start your day without berating yourself first.
You can't get just 1 minute, 60 freaking seconds, of peace and gratitude before you start mentally ticking off the ways you've failed
Then you, finally roll out of bed and catch your reflection in the mirror and it just makes you feel worse?
Because your stomach isn't flat enough, your thighs aren't small enough, your butt isn't perky enough
Some how YOU are "not enough"
Let me lift something up for you today:

1. ๐™”๐™ค๐™ช ๐˜ผ๐™๐™€ ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ค๐™ช๐™œ๐™ โ™ก
Right now, in this moment, in this body, in this breath, you ARE enough
2. ๐™„๐™ฉ'๐™จ ๐™ฃ๐™ค๐™ฉ ๐™–๐™—๐™ค๐™ช๐™ฉ ๐™๐™–๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™ฎ๐™ค๐™ช๐™ง๐™จ๐™š๐™ก๐™› ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™ค ๐™– ๐™—๐™š๐™ฉ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง ๐™ฅ๐™ก๐™–๐™˜๐™š; ๐™ฉ๐™๐™–๐™ฉ ๐™ฌ๐™ž๐™ก๐™ก ๐™ฃ๐™š๐™ซ๐™š๐™ง ๐™ฌ๐™ค๐™ง๐™ . โ™ก

2๏ธโƒฃ ๐‘‡๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘˜ ๐‘Œ๐‘œ๐‘ข๐‘Ÿ ๐ผ๐‘›๐‘ก๐‘Ž๐‘˜๐‘’: Spend a few days tracking what you eat to understand your patterns and make informed adjustments.
3๏ธโƒฃ ๐ต๐‘œ๐‘œ๐‘ ๐‘ก ๐‘ฆ๐‘œ๐‘ข๐‘Ÿ ๐‘๐‘Ÿ๐‘œ๐‘ก๐‘’๐‘–๐‘›: Increase your protein intake to help manage hunger and stabilize your blood sugar.
