Need some motivation today?
Have you ever taken the time to look at what your future might have in store?
I'm sure you have the best of intentions and hopefully have a generally sunny outlook about what your future will be
When I work with new clients I love to do a "future pacing" exercise where you get to envision where/who you want to be in 3 months, 6 months, even a year...
It's a beautiful exercise where you get to get excited about the changes you're making and the path you're beginning
But sometimes it can be even MORE beneficial to look at the flip side
Today, I want to challenge you to also think about the other future: the one that might happen if 𝑛𝑜 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑠 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑚𝑎𝑑𝑒...

I don't say this to cast judgement or bring negativity, we've all done all of these things and more
I want to lift them up as ways that you might be staying stuck, leaning into old habits and behaviors that aren't serving you
This can be a hard exercise, it can be tough vision to look at, depending on whether you're struggling with pain in your joints, weight loss, maybe you're seeing shifts in your blood work, or starting to notice prediabetic symptoms.....it's important to consider where your current path might lead.
Yes it might be hard, but sometimes visualizing what 𝐧𝐨𝐭 changing will look like in 6 months or a few years, it could be the wake-up call you need to get motivated.
Take a moment to reflect on where your current path may lead if NO changes are made.
And then I challenge you to think of ONE thing you can do this week, ONE change you can focus on to change the trajectory of where you might be heading

NO it’s actually not slowing down because of aging alone!
As you age you tend to LOSE precious muscle mass
Muscle is one of the “Big Three” when it comes to how high or low your metabolism runs
In order to keep your metabolism pumping your best bet is to add in some strength training 💪🏼

Sure, you can lose weight by eating only donuts… 🍩 🍫 🍦 …But there’s a catch…
Yep, you read that right!
Studies show that you CAN lose weight while eating pretty much anything you want…
AS LONG AS you’re in a calorie deficit. 🍩
But here’s the catch—-
It’s probably gonna suck.
1800 calories of junk food is a lot smaller than 1800 calories of healthier options
Foods high in protein, fiber, and healthy fats will keep you feeling fuller longer, give you more energy, and generally help you to feel AMAZING 🤩
A donut might satisfy your sweet tooth, but does it fuel your goals?
At the end of the day it’s up to you to decide what fuels you BEST
How you feel is just as important as the number on the scale ❤️

Let’s be real, labeling food as “good” or “bad” can lead to so much unnecessary guilt 🙅🏼‍♀️
What matters most is how the food makes YOU feel
Did that high sugar treat leave you feeling sluggish or even with joint pain?
Did that protein-packed breakfast fuel your day like a rockstar? 🤩
The journey to your healthiest weight is all about balance and listening to your body. Eat what makes you FEEL good, not guilty.

Do you ever just wake up and start thinking about the "bad" choices you made yesterday?...
It's like, you can't even start your day without berating yourself first.
You can't get just 1 minute, 60 freaking seconds, of peace and gratitude before you start mentally ticking off the ways you've failed
Then you, finally roll out of bed and catch your reflection in the mirror and it just makes you feel worse?
Because your stomach isn't flat enough, your thighs aren't small enough, your butt isn't perky enough
Some how YOU are "not enough"
Let me lift something up for you today:

1. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝘼𝙍𝙀 𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 ♡
Right now, in this moment, in this body, in this breath, you ARE enough
2. 𝙄𝙩'𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙖 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚; 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠. ♡
It’s about embracing your worthiness and making positive changes from a place of love. ❤️
Because, damn it, you're WORTH the effort.
Here are some steps you can take to create positive momentum forward:
1️⃣ 𝐼𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑓𝑦 𝑌𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑊ℎ𝑦: Reflect on why you want to be healthier and why you deserve this. Let this motivation fuel your journey.
2️⃣ 𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑌𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝐼𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑘𝑒: Spend a few days tracking what you eat to understand your patterns and make informed adjustments.
3️⃣ 𝐵𝑜𝑜𝑠𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑡𝑒𝑖𝑛: Increase your protein intake to help manage hunger and stabilize your blood sugar.
4️⃣ 𝑀𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑌𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝐵𝑜𝑑𝑦: Don't over complicate this. Incorporate more movement into your day—every little bit helps!

Today I heard something that made me really sad…
A woman was asking about vaginal pain and if it can be associated with menopause
She was obviously very distressed and embarrassed to even be asking for advice on what to do
So let me help a little bit and shout it from the rooftops:
Yes, it’s a symptom AND it’s super common
And NO you don’t have to suffer in silence
There are plenty of effective treatments to try, including estrogen based gels, creams and suppositories, the are OTC options and herbal remedies
Symptoms can include painful movement, incontinence, pain during intimacy, and more
It’s definitely time to release the shame around this very natural part of life because honestly a lot of the symptoms can be pretty damn uncomfortable
It helps to know you’re not alone, and no, despite what your doctor might be gas lighting you to believe you are NOT crazy, and there are things you can do to start to feel better ❤️
So yes, you can’t just assume everything is due to menopause, but often when other things are ruled out its time to look there and create changes to support your body as you shift into the next phase of life

Broccoli has more protein than steak?! 🥦vs 🥩
I saw this claim yesterday and I was like, WHAT?!
So, me being me and not being able to just let it go, I had to dig around and see what was going on...
Yes, ounce per ounce stead obviously has more protein than broccoli, BUT when you look at percentage per calorie then yes, broccoli technically has more.
Why do you care? Because most of the women I talk to AREN'T getting nearly enough protein in a day, and I want you to know that you can think outside of the box to get your needs met.
Focusing on a "Plant Strong" diet (NOT Plant Perfect) is a great first step in getting healthier and feeling a lot better in your life.
And if you can pair that with "beefing" up on protein--pun absolutely intended--then you are way ahead of the game in your wt. loss efforts as well.
