This family made sure their mom working at CMMC still felt celebrated on Motherโ€™s Day with a special surprise outside the hospital.

We still love this moment and the joy it brought to her day.

Happy Motherโ€™s Day to all the moms caring for our community today and every day. ๐Ÿ’

The Dempsey Challenge is coming up on September 19, and Team CMH is getting ready. ๐Ÿ’™

When diagnosed with cancer, many in our community turn to the Dempsey Center during some of lifeโ€™s hardest moments, throughout treatment, or on the days that just feel heavy.

Now located within the Cancer Care Center, it offers space for support, connection, and care.

Each fall, you will find Team CMH at the Dempsey Challenge, walking, riding, and showing up together. Year after year, Central Maine Healthcare brings one of the largest teams, all rallying around the same purpose.

It is more than an event. It is neighbors showing up for neighbors. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ“‹ Meet MyChart, your new patient portal. ๐Ÿ’™

MyChart is now available for patients across our hospitals and practices, replacing our previous portal system.

With MyChart, patients can view health information, check test results, message their care team, and manage appointments all in one place.

This has been months in the making behind the scenes, and our teams are excited to begin using MyChart with the patients and communities we care for every day.

Happy Nurses Week! ๐Ÿ’™ ๐Ÿฅ

Some of the most important moments in care are not the big ones. They are the quiet ones. The extra minute. The small detail that does not get missed.

And more often than not, those moments come from a nurse.

In hospital rooms, in clinics, on the phone, and behind the scenes, they are keeping track of everything, and making sure patients and families feel seen and understood.

It is not one big moment, it is a hundred small ones that add up.

THAT is the power of nurses. ๐Ÿ’™

Know a nurse who made a difference for you or your family? We'd love to hear your story below. ๐Ÿ‘‡

We love seeing moments like this. ๐Ÿ’™

Our medical students spent an evening at Wicked Illustrations Studio painting a Lewiston favorite, hot air balloons over the Androscoggin River, connecting, laughing, and building relationships beyond the hospital walls.

It was an ordinary Maine spring day in the Security Office at CMMC when the call came in. ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿฆ†

Loud quacking.
Little peeps coming from a storm drain.

Security responded to find a very worried (and vocal) momma duckโ€”and a whole lot of tiny peeps coming from below. With help from the Lewiston Water Department, the team got to work.

One by one, they started to appear.
Not one.
Not two.
Not threeโ€ฆ

But TWELVE fuzzy little ducklings, carefully brought up and reunited with mom, who had plenty to say about the whole situation.

A real ๐˜”๐˜ข๐˜ฌ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ž๐˜ข๐˜บ ๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ ๐˜‹๐˜ถ๐˜ค๐˜ฌ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ๐˜ด momentโ€”Jack, Kack, Lack, Mack, Nack, Ouack, Pack, and Quackโ€ฆ plus four more little waddlers who clearly need names ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿฆ†

All accounted for. All back in line.

Help us outโ€”what should we name the other four? ๐Ÿ’™

Theyโ€™re one of the first smiles you see and an extra set of hands when it matters most. ๐Ÿ’™

Do you recognize some of these smiling faces?

Itโ€™s National Volunteer Week, and weโ€™re giving a well-earned shoutout to some of the volunteers you see all around CMMC, at the front desk, in the halls, helping families get where they need to go.

They keep things moving, step in without being asked, and make the day a little easier for everyone who walks through our doors.

We see you, and weโ€™re grateful for you. ๐Ÿ’™ Show some love for our volunteers in the comments!

Tiffanie Thomen, APRN-FNP, has been named a United Healthcare Hero Award recipient.

Tiffanie cares for patients at Minot Avenue Family Medicine in Auburn and was recognized for the kind of care that patients notice and remember, making it easier to get the care they need, staying connected across the care team, and taking the time to listen and communicate with respect.

If Tiffanie has cared for you or your family, share a note below. Weโ€™d love to hear it!

A familiar face, now in a new role.

Central Maine Healthcare welcomes Dr. Jessica Poulin as Director of Osteopathic Education for our Family Medicine Residency Program. Many in the community may already know her from her work at Central Maine Osteopathic Manual Medicine in Auburn.

After earning her undergraduate degree at MIT, she went on to complete medical school and her residency at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

At the core of her approach is listening, building trust, and taking time to understand each patientโ€™s goals, concerns, and experiences.

Help us thank her for guiding the next generation of family medicine providers. ๐Ÿ’™
