In Loving Memory of Bentley October 3rd, 2025
It is with great sadness that we said goodbye to our beloved Bentley on Friday, October 3rd. Known by many names — Benny, Benny Boy, Goober, Benny Ben Ben, and Bud — Bentley brought joy, comfort, and love to everyone he met for over 11 wonderful years.
Bentley was more than just a dog — he was a constant, loving presence at our office, where he served as an official therapy dog through Mission Working Dogs, and greeter, touching the lives of countless patients. There wasn't a person he didn’t like, and he simply couldn’t comprehend anyone who didn’t love dogs. He was truly one of a kind — that once-in-a-lifetime dog who leaves an everlasting paw print on your heart. He became a certified Therapy Dog through MWD at the tender age of 7!
He had a remarkable gift for sensing what people needed. Whether gently nudging for a cuddle or silently offering his presence, Bentley had an intuition and soulfulness that was rare. He could even get elderly patients down on the floor to snuggle with him — that was his magic. Without ever saying a word, he gave the best therapy anyone could ask for.
From the very beginning, Bentley was exceptional. He accompanied Phil on ski patrol at Lost Valley, comforting injured guests, and became his constant sidekick wherever they went. He loved coming to the office each day, swimming in our pool, and especially visiting Auntie Donna and Uncle Randal’s dock at Thompson Lake. But Bentley’s absolute favorite thing in the world was riding his jetski across the lake, leaping off to swim, then climbing back on for another ride.
We take comfort in imagining Bentley now — riding his jetski across a boundless, peaceful lake, swimming to his heart's content, and bringing love wherever he goes.
We love you, Bud. You will be missed every single day. Ride on, sweet boy — forever.
