Just as a quick note, Julia and I are getting our butts kicked by some stomach bug. We are going to close for the next day and Christmas. Depending on how we progress hoping to be back in the office this weekend serving again.

We will still be doing our drawing tomorrow or on the holiday to pick a winner for TOYS from LO & LO'S Arcade MANIA gift basket!

Good afternoon! Hope everyone had a great holiday yesterday! Been a while since we have done a giveaway but this really neat vintage video game and arcade spot opened up in Niagara Falls called TOYS from LO & LO'S Arcade MANIA. The owner Josh is a nice dude who has spoiled my kid every time we have stopped in his new or old location. Monday tidbit, on Tuesday? Please forgive it was to sunny out to not be outside.

So sticking with the exercise activity theme as a few weeks ago. As we age in life, a big concern is bone quality and its inherent health and strength.

There is something called Wolffs law, and it essentially describes that bone will adapt and become thicker and stronger with more load put on it (physical activity). And there is plenty research showing physical activity is more beneficial for long term bone health and osteoporosis prevention than supplementing Calcium alone. So basically with bone health, for real… if you don’t use it, you lose it. Again pointing out the important of regular load bearing exercise/activity.

Josh here, happy Monday and another little tidbit.

The little intervertebral disc are the little cushions and spacers between the actual bones in the spine. These discs help keep proper function of the spine and the nerves directly behind them.

Like bone and muscles, discs need nutrients from blood! Here is the kicker, discs DO NOT HAVE A DIRECT BLOOD SUPPLY. The disc gets its nutrients from the endplates of the bones above and below it through osmosis. Which basically means from motion of that bone in the disc.

So in summary if you do not keep regular active full body motion in your daily routine. The disc will age/degenerate before their time. The body has an amazing innate ability to heal and adapt, but sometimes only within limitations we provide. Exercise even a little bit daily will make an enormous difference in the way your body functions in the long haul. ***here is us trying to walk a cat, it went how you’d expect it to go 🙄***

Josh here, I should be more of an educator to my patients and public. Monday mornings I’ll post, starting nice here.

So, Chiropractic is simple… restoring the alignment of the spinal segments to free nerve transmissions/signals from brain to body allowing the inborn intelligence called INNATE to organize the body’s functions so they adapt to its environment as best as possible. Even if it means just relieving pain to start.

We want to live a healthy long high functioning life correct…but we make highly inflammatory life style choices daily that stunt our bodies ability to run efficiently.

Gluten, sugar, alcohol, processed food, soy, corn….just limiting these items by 50% a day from what you already do will make huge impacts in your inflammatory levels, which in-turn will allow your body to have more potential to heal and adapt efficiently.

Life ain’t perfect, but YOU have the power already built within, just give it a helping hand.
