One Yoga

One Yoga Rooted in nature, One Yoga is traveling yoga instruction that offers scenic adventures, group classes and private instruction throughout WNY.

Megan Sackman – Owner / Instructor, RYT200, TRX Certified, Trauma Informed Yoga Instructor

Megan’s yoga practice began in 2003 in Burlington, VT shortly after moving to the area after college. She quickly noticed that the practice of yoga had many benefits both physically and mentally. Those benefits of yoga were fully realized after going through the traumatic birth of her second child. It was y

oga that helped pull Megan through the depression and physical pain from the birth. The stillness of yoga allowed Megan to drastically reduce the amount of anxiety and worry in her life. In 2014, Megan’s yoga journey led her to begin exploring the possibilities of sharing the gift of yoga with others. The Himalayan Institute of Buffalo, NY graciously accepted her into their Yoga Teacher Training program. Megan enjoys the outdoors through gardening, hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing. Her practice and instruction reflect her love of nature. She strongly believes that yoga can lead to social change. It is her goal to help others find compassion within their own self, which in turn leads to compassion for others and the earth. Megan has practiced Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Hatha styles of yoga. Her teaching is influenced by the flow of Vinyasa and the deeply rooted traditions of Hatha.

I was teaching the other day and just paused. I realized that I was sitting, hips propped up, with BOTH legs crossed and I had zero pain in my left hip. It felt so automatic even though I hadn’t been able to do it for months, almost a year.

This isn’t something that HAD to happen for me, but it felt amazing to sit in easy pose with both legs folded in. Like a circle being whole, or a chain linked together.

I hadn’t thought about “making” this happen for months. And I truly believe that is what allowed my tissues and my guarding to soften. Often times the thinking mind is the obstacle.

When we can quiet the mind, can ease and comfort arrive? Yes! Some days both of my legs might fold in. Some days they may not. But my true peace will reside in not THINKING (overthinking 😂) about it so much.

Grounding. Growing. Ease. Staying Curious. Breathing. Healing.

*Side note: orthopedic surgeries really do take a full year to recover from, maybe more. Give yourself grace. ❤️

I am starting a little library at Full Circle Mind & Body. We are launching it on Wednesday night with a relaxing yoga class, followed by a book swap. Hope to see you there!

Come join for a relaxing evening yoga session and the grand opening of our studio’s little library! Don’t forget to bring two books - one to swap with someone else and one to donate to the library.

Your books can be related to yoga, something that has helped you in your personal journey towards healing, or simply one of your favorite feel-good fiction reads. We are thrilled to make this little library a permanent fixture in our studio, as it will help enhance our community’s connection & healing experience✨

A little reintroduction. I’m adding on Thursday mornings at 9:30 until that class moves outside in June! ❤️

Long time, no post! However, I’m happy to announce that I’m stepping back into studio teaching. Check out the link for info on a new studio that has opened in Lewiston. The space is beautiful and has healing vibes, for sure. I will be teaching on Tuesday mornings at 9:30a starting 1/9.

My classes will look mostly the same, with some new twists. After recovering from several surgeries, I now weave in gradual strength building and mobility into my practice. My classes are perfect for those who need or are seeking a slower, recovery based pace. We will also explore some breathing practices and lymphatic movement/massage.

Check them out via their website and Instagram. I’m a bit more active on IG stories so make sure to follow my oneyogawny account there too!

Thank you!
XOXO ❤️
