On Sat June 21st and Sunday June 22nd, we were fortunate enough to be able to investigate the Nez Perce County courthouse. Huge thanks to Spokane Paranormal Investigation Group who joined us on Saturday. We were first given a tour of the building by the county commissioner. Then we went around to various areas and set up stationary cameras & voice recorders in various places. Honestly the building is so vast, there was no way to cover even half of it in the time we had. After setting up equipment, we started going to different rooms in the building, set up portable equipment and tried asking questions to see if we could get responses.
In the basement, while deciding where to place equipment, we heard water running from somewhere. We found the water in one of urinals in the basement men’s bathroom was running so much that it was causing an overflow. We alerted the commissioner who came and fixed the problem. Of note, there have been claims of the spirit of a little boy who likes to turn on water to mess with the cleaning crew.
We got significant responses in the Cell block hall, Isolation cell hall, upstairs bathroom, Courtrooms 1, 2 and 3. One team member was touched on the arm in Courtroom 3. .
We got responses on almost every piece of equipment used on Saturday night. Sunday night was quieter and we were only able to get some intermittent K2 responses.
Spokane Paranormal Investigation Group https://www.facebook.com/share/1FGxVo8fWG/?mibextid=wwXIfr has posted many of the findings from Saturday night on their page. Please give them a follow and check out their post about our courthouse investigation. Needless to say, there was a lot of paranormal activity. It also just felt surreal walking through this amazing piece of history. Imagine what high emotions and energy this place had and still has.!
For those of you not familiar with some of the equipment, here’s are some descriptions.
Dead bell: designed to detect EMF fluctuations, often associated with paranormal activity, and to act as a trigger object for spirits to interact with. When EMF levels change, the bell is designed to chime, potentially indicating a spirit's presence or communication.
Hydra unit: The Hydra unit has a central body or hub that acts as an intelligent sensor, monitoring both electromagnetic field (EMF) changes and motion (tilt and vibration).
The Hydra unit is designed to monitor different areas of a room simultaneously and can be set up to detect subtle changes that might be missed by the human eye.
Up to five illuminated light strips extend from the hub, each equipped with sensors at their tips
These sensor strips light up in different colors (responsive to detected activity) to indicate the presence of paranormal activity.
Music box: The music box acts as a trigger object, meaning it's designed to elicit a response from spirits or other paranormal entities.
The device uses a motion sensor to detect movement in its vicinity.
When triggered, it plays a spooky tune and may also activate a light, providing both auditory and visual cues of potential paranormal activity.
DR 60: a digital recorder that is known for its voice activation feature, which allows it to start recording when sound is detected and pause when silent. It makes playback and review faster
We will post more highlights of our findings. If you have any stories about the courthouse, we would love to hear them. Huge thanks to the county commissioners, Spokane Paranormal Investigation group, Kika, Josh, Zach & Toni.
