Juniata Valley Tri-County Drug and Alcohol We contract with facilities around the state of PA to provide a full continuum of care.

We offer funding for drug and alcohol treatment for adults and adolescents in Huntingdon, Mifflin and Juniata Counties who are uninsured or underinsured including MA.

Day 11 of FASD Awareness Month! We are Half way there!

A study that analyzed 2015–2018 data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health reports that:

About 1 in 10 (9.8%) pregnant women report current alcohol use.
About 1 in 22 (4.5%) pregnant women report binge drinking.
Alcohol use is highest among women who are in the first trimester of pregnancy, with about 1 in 5 (19.6%) reporting current alcohol use and 1 in 10 (10.5%) reporting binge drinking.

AFSP is showcasing information about su***de prevention, Crisis, and Out of the Darkness Walk. They have a coloring page, stickers bracelets and pens available!

Tri-County is showcasing information about NARCAN, fentanyl, Xylazine, methamphetamine, va**ng, quitting smoking, stigma and of course FASD. We have a basket of goodies as well!

Day 9 of FASD Awareness!

Who does FASD affect? Any individual may face the possibility of their child developing FASD if they consume alcohol during pregnancy. This includes people with substance use disorders (SUDs) and those who drank prior to recognition of pregnancy. Yet, FASD affects us all. Systems, providers, families, and individuals can benefit from access to accurate, FASD-informed information to promote healthy pre- and post-natal outcomes for everyone.

Day 7 of FASD Awareness Month!

The lifetime cost of care for one individual with FAS in 2002 was estimated to be $2 million. This is an average for people with FAS and does not include data on people with other FASDs. People with certain disabilities, such as profound intellectual disability, have much higher costs. It is estimated that the cost to the United States for FAS alone is over $4 billion annually.
