The Fergus County Health Department has been notified that West Nile Virus (WNV) has been detected in a mosquito pool collected in Fergus County.

While no human cases have been reported locally at this time, the detection serves as a reminder that WNV continues to be present in Montana and that residents should take precautions to protect themselves and their families.

RECALL: The recall is being implemented due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. No illnesses have been reported to date. The products were distributed between 7/1/2025-7/25/2025 and sold in Sam’s Club retail stores in Billings and Great Falls. These products were packaged in foil pouches inside a corrugated box. Consumers who have this product in their possession should not consume the product. They should discard it and may visit any Sam’s Club for a full refund.
