It has come to our attention that the Lewistown Sentinel had printed that West Granville Fire company is having a chicken barbecue this coming Saturday.

THERE IS NO CHICKEN BARBECUE THIS SATURDAY

West Granville’s chicken barbecues run from April to September on the second Saturday of each month.

The Engine and Tanker provided mutual aid assistance to the Newton Wayne Fire Co. on a brush fire this afternoon. Engine 17 was initially requested to set up a fill site and throughout its operational period, it refilled 8 tankers.
A short time after the Engine’s dispatch, the Tanker was called to provide additional water. The Tanker supplied 2.5 loads (5,000 gallons ) to the suppression efforts.

Today they completed the “live burn” element of the required training necessary to achieve the rank of “Interior firefighter”.

This marks the completion of nearly 180 hours of training in order to VOLUNTEER to serve their community. 

If you see thes guys out and about, offer them a hearty congratulations and let them know you are as proud of them as we are!!

Join us, this coming Saturday, (Sept. 13th) for the last chicken barbecue of the 2025 season.
Chicken is still only $7 per half and will be ready by 11 AM.
