Tremendous Thursday

Annual Halloween Classic

When I was 5, and my sister Judith Schardt Shure was 4, my mom entered us in the Brentwood Halloween Parade (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania).

Mom was a fantastic artist. She designed and handmade our costumes.

I was the King of Hearts and Judy was the Queen.

From our necks down to our shins, we were each sandwiched between two large heart-shaped pieces of red spray-painted cardboard . . .

Our knees banged on the backs while we held hands and marched around the track at Brentwood Stadium.

On our heads, we wore the most brilliant, shiny, and perfect aluminum foil crowns!

King Larry and Queen Judy . . . At your service!

We won first prize . . .

The greatest treasures in our kingdom are the memories we carry with us forever!

I hope your Halloween rocks . . . With countless wonderful memories and endless hearts of love.

Sunshiny Sunday

Walking on Sunshine!

One of the best ways to get motivated, annihilate anxiety, and get those ideas flowing is to get up, move around, and (if you can) take a walk . . . or at least move.

“If you are seeking creative ideas, go out walking. Angels whisper to a man when he goes for a walk” (Raymond Inmon). So true!

Even if it’s just around the house, office, or neighborhood . . .

If you have the ability to walk and don’t, you cheat yourself out of one of life’s greatest blessings.

A walk is a fabulous way to get into flow . . . Change scenery . . . Get your muscles moving . . . Breathe in the air! . . . Appreciate . . . Create!

And . . . Stay healthy . . .

In the words of Hippocrates . . . “Walking is man's best medicine.”

Laughter is great medicine, too, especially if you do your best to keep yourself healthy.

Make a Difference Day!

A wonderful reminder to make a positive difference wherever you are.

A great way to make a difference is to . . . Let people know they are important . . .

There are lessons to be learned from everyone . . . Appreciate them.

So many people love to be noticed . . . It’s easy to notice and show you care.

Strike up a conversation and share kind words . . . With your waitress . . . With the cleaning person . . . With the person next to you in line.

Even something as simple as saying, “Hello,” or “Thank you,” can make all the difference, or simply sharing your smile!

It’s so easy . . . And free . . . With possible life-changing results! We all have the power to brighten someone’s world.

A smile. A wave. A kind word . . . A flash of the Peace Sign . . .

Life! . . . Shine on! Smile on! Rock on!

“There are only two ways to live your life . . .

“One is as though nothing is a miracle . . .

“The other is as though everything is a miracle” (Albert Einstein).

Man, was that guy smart or what?

Gratitude is our miracle!

If you take everything for granted, then nothing is a miracle. We want more, more, more . . . and appreciate less, less, less (if at all).

On the other hand . . . If you live with gratitude . . . then everything is a miracle.

One of your greatest gratitude gifts to give . . .

Is your smile . . . It’s a miracle magnet!

Your smile is totally free and absolutely the best thing you can wear.

A smile is the most important item in any wardrobe.

A smile is a way to share your joy and give a happy to whoever you see.
