Today we had the honor of welcoming 💜Journey to Justice to our facility to provide an educational session for our staff on protecting vulnerable older adults and recognizing the risks of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and abandonment.

Journey to Justice is a grassroots, non-profit movement that grew out of the elder abuse case of 17 individuals at a memory care facility in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania in 2023. The organization was founded by Lynn Fiedler, whose mother, Alice Longenberger, was one of the victims. What began as tragedy has become a powerful mission to create change, strengthen protections, and advocate for older adults across our state.

Their organization works tirelessly toward legislative change, resident rights, placement assistance, agency collaboration, advocacy, education, training, and guidance - all with the goal of facilitating protection for older adults who may lack the capacity to protect themselves.

We are incredibly grateful for the time they spent educating and empowering our team this afternoon. Ongoing education is one of the most important ways we can continue to provide safe, compassionate, and informed care for those we serve. Yesterday, we celebrated a wonderful Valentine’s Day filled with sweet treats, laughter, music, and lots of love. Our residents enjoyed spending time together, sharing smiles, and making special memories with friends and staff.

We are so thankful for the joy, kindness, and heart our residents bring to our community every single day. Days like today remind us just how special it is to celebrate together.

The Christmas cheer continued strong on week 3 as our staff (and even some of our residents) joined in on Christmas Dress-Up Days. Seeing everyone come together has truly made this season joyful and memorable. 🎄

After such an amazing kickoff for our first week, last week our staff kept the Christmas cheer going with Week Two of Dress-Up Days!

Nothing brightens our residents’ days more than seeing our team having fun and celebrating the holidays right alongside them. We had an absolute blast at the Lewistown Christmas Parade yesterday! 🎄

Our residents loved seeing everyone come out to celebrate, wave, and share in the holiday spirit. 💕 A huge thank you to all the organizers who made this event such a wonderful success. To our staff who helped out last night we couldn’t have done it without you either, thank you! Your hard work brought so much joy to our residents and community. We can’t wait to see everyone again at the next event! ❄️

Yesterday, we had the privilege of celebrating Veterans Day with our incredible SNF residents, IL cottagers, and dedicated staff. It was a beautiful day to honor the brave men and women who have served our country with courage and sacrifice. A huge thank you to PJ from 365 Hospice for helping make this special celebration possible — your support means so much!

Our staff showed their patriotic spirit by wearing red, white, and blue in honor of our veterans, and the pride and gratitude throughout our community was truly inspiring. To all who have served — we thank you today and every day. Here are a few pictures we captured from this special day. ❤️🤍💙

October was Physical Therapy Month, and even though we’re a few days late, we didn’t want to miss the chance to give a huge thank you to our amazing Physical Therapy team!

Your dedication, compassion, and expertise help our residents regain strength, independence, and confidence every single day! From encouraging smiles to creative treatment plans, you make such a difference in every step of recovery, and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

We’re so grateful for all that you do — not just October, but all year long. Let’s give a shoutout to our PT superheroes!

We wrapped up the week with a costume dress up day and halloween party, and it was a frightfully fun time! From creative costumes to spooky treats, everyone brought their best Halloween spirit.
