Denton County Public Health will open a call center on Monday, March 16th for Denton County community members needing more information about COVID-19. You can reach the team at 940.349.2585 weekdays from 8AM to 5PM, and community members can call to obtain information about coronavirus or get questions answered.

The call center team will not be able to provide diagnosis or individual clinical advice. If you are ill, please contact your healthcare provider.

Stay Informed

"Should I get tested for COVID-19?" is a common question DCPH has received. Community members are encouraged to contact their healthcare provider first should they feel unwell. Based on symptoms, travel or contact exposure, and negative tests for other respiratory illnesses, your provider may elect to collect a respiratory specimen via swab for COVID-19. Those who are severely sick or admitted to a hospital may be tested based on current testing guidelines. If part of a public health contact investigation to a known positive COVID-19 case, DCPH will communicate with individuals directly.

CDC testing criteria recommendations are rapidly changing and DCPH will continue to keep providers and community members informed. DCPH has sent COVID-19 guidance to over 800 Denton County healthcare providers.
