Tips From Dr. Brito - Avoiding heat stroke and heat exhaustion:

Below Dr. Brito suggests some ways that will help you stay safe and avoid heat exhaustion and heat stroke while prioritizing your health, these include:

- Hydrate! Drink plenty of fluids (mainly water).
- Try to wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.
- Wide-brimmed hats and umbrellas are good for shade coverage.
- If you do find yourself outside, take it slow and rest frequently in a cool, shaded area.
- If you're at home and don't have air conditioning, try cooling off at a shopping mall, library or senior center.

“Absolutely love this medical practice. I’ve been a patient here for approximately 10 years, and they provide such customized care. You aren’t just “a number” here. There’s never an issue getting seen quickly if something urgent needs attention. I also have some long-term issues like thyroid and anxiety, and they are great at keeping my labs up to date and adjusting meds as needed. They’re also good listeners and note-keepers when you are describing things you are experiencing. So when you come in again, they follow up on anything I’m experiencing between visits.
