Nutritional Therapy encompasses way more than what you're eating. And to be honest, most of the time the nutrition piece isn't even the primary piece! This image shows the "anchors" of Nutritional Therapy work, but there is still so much more that goes into maintaining amazing health and wellness throughout our lives that can't be contained in a graphic, like mindset, but these are a great place to start!

What is one anchor you could focus on improving in the next month? Mine is always hydration ๐Ÿ˜… Let me know what yours is in the comments.

I love egg salad, this looks amazing!!

Tried something new, and was very pleased! I wanted egg salad yesterday, but I was out of mustard (I usually add mayo, mustard and ganthoda). So, I switched it up. Mayo and Hearty Sauces Herb Balsamic dry mix. What a flavor punch ๐Ÿ‘Š!
10/10 would recommend!

Great breakfast tips from my friend Annie at Diaita Nutrition!!

Letโ€™s talk BREAKFAST! This is the first meal of the day that is breaking your fast. This meal sets the stage for the rest of your day so you want it to be a balanced meal. A balanced meal contains PROTEIN + FAT + FIBER. This helps to keep your blood sugar stable and provide you with sustainable energy.

I like pairing a protein like this chicken breakfast patty with my smoothies to make sure I check all the boxes!
โœ… PROTEIN: Chicken breakfast patty
โœ… FAT: Coconut milk, flax seeds, bacon fat (cooked in chicken patty)
โœ… FIBER: Strawberries, banana, spinach, cauliflower

Smoothies are a great way to get in more veggies! This is what I added: frozen banana, frozen strawberries, spinach, frozen cauliflower, flax seeds, and coconut milk ๐Ÿน

How long does it take you to feel hungry after eating breakfast? If youโ€™re feeling hungry 1-2 hours after eating then youโ€™ll want to reevaluate your meal to see if itโ€™s checking all the boxes. You may need to up your protein and fat to keep you feeling fuller longer!

There are so many reasons why it is important to keep our blood sugar and cortisol in check, but as a woman there is one additional important reason why.

During childbearing years, our s*x organs are responsible for producing our s*x hormones. However, once we start to go through menopause this responsibility gets passed to our adrenal glands.

So what does that have to do with our cortisol & blood sugar?

Well, our adrenal glands have the responsibility of helping keep our blood sugar levels in a good range. So if we are stressed and over producing cortisol which can throw off our blood sugar, then we are already putting our adrenals to work. Now if we throw in the added responsibility of hormone production, things can start to get difficult.

This is why it is so important to take care of the bodies we have now. It will pay off in the long run for sure!
