Update 12/23: DAD IS HOME!!!! Everyone made it home just in time for Christmas and everyone is slowly making progress. Nathan feels a little more better just sore and dad is doing good just really tired! We cannot sing Gods Praises enough and there are not enough words to describe how lucky we are for having the best friends and family that have continuously been checking in on both of them. We love everyone so much and thank you all for everything!!! It’s a Christmas Miracle and my brother is my hero for sure!! Love you dad & Nathan! I love my family so much!!! 💙💚💙💚

12/22 update: went to visit Nathan and Dad! Good news NATHAN has gone HOME!!!They just left the hospital. Please say prayers for safe travels and the recovery process for Nathan. He is a little scared and still having some trouble but I think going home will help him get some better rest and Kandyce too! Dad is still doing great all his levels are great!! He is supposed to go home tomorrow but this weather coming may delay it!! We are so glad we are on the end of this part of it and headed towards recovering and a normal life!!

12/21/22 update: Brad and I went up this evening and took Kandyce and Mom dinner. Dad and finally now Nathan are both doing really great!!! They are both checking off a lot of the doctors boxes on recovering! YAY!! More cards were given to them tonight so thank you everyone who has sent cards, gift card and of course all the love and prayers of everyone on FB. It has been so amazing!! Nathan has the potential to go home tomorrow but we will know more in the morning/afternoon, he had a pretty rough day and night yesterday. Dad may be another day or 2 before he can leave. Overall everyone is doing really great!! I’ll keep more updates coming tomorrow!

Dad was up this morning and seeing Nathan. Dad is doing good. Nathan is still in pain but going to try and get him up and walking this morning!

Last update for the evening: Nathan and Dad are on the same floor but both in separate private rooms! They both got wheeled to see each other after the surgery!

Dad is doing great and looks great. Just very very tired!!

Nathan looks great and is fine but in a lot a lot of pain right now. Please pray for comfort and rest tonight and the following days and weeks!

My mom and Kandyce are exhausted and have their hands full with them but overall extremely relieved with this great news and how everyone looks.

Thank you, thank you, thank you every single person who reached out! The prayers were felt all day today and will continue to. It was a very long day. We are all so tired but oh are we all so thankful and blessed! The love was truly felt by all friends and family.

Thank you to my Aunt and The Younce’s who stayed at the hospital with with Kandyce, my mom and myself the entire time today!

We LOVE every single person and gosh today was just the miracle we needed! Thank you God for this amazing blessing and for the amazing people he has put in our lives!

Update #4: Had consultation with dads doctor! IT WENT GREAT!!!She said it was a beautiful kidney and what a great gift!!! The urine started shooting out as soon as it entered my dads body for those that don’t know that is amazing!! Both are now headed to recovery for several hours. Praise the lord!!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 GOD IS GOOD!!!!!

Update #3 we just had a consultation with Nathan’s doctor. He is out of surgery and in recovery. Doctor said everything went great and the kidney being removed looked great. Nathan will be in the most pain! Dad is another hour or two out with his surgery!!

Update: Dad and Nathan report to UK hospital at 5:30am tomorrow morning! We are hoping to be the first surgery of the day around 7-7:30am! I will continue to provide as many updates throughout tomorrow and the rest of the week!!

Tonight we celebrated an early Christmas with the family. I also decided to go ahead and give them some of the cards and gift cards people have generously been giving me over the last two weeks. It was such an emotional moment for us and we cannot begin to say thank you to everyone!! These videos show how much this meant to my parents and brother and sister in law. From the bottom of my heart and theirs thank you!!!
I know more people are still planning on giving cards this week and I will be taking them to hospital with me as I receive them!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I hope everyone had the most wonderful Thanksgiving with family as we did! I’d like to give you an update on my dad and the journey to find him a kidney. As you know this all began back in early March. It has been such a rollercoaster for my entire family! Every doctors visit we would just hold our breath that my dad would not have to be put on dialysis! I don’t know how my parents stayed so strong during this entire process but with faith and prayer God is in charge of everything!

Most everyone knows I got married back in September and although that helped take our mind off of my dads situation there were plenty of times it felt like my dad was a ticking time bomb! As days got closer to my wedding, was dad going to be told he’d have to go on dialysis, would a kidney come along and he would have to go in immediately and miss my wedding. Again, the Good Lord answered our prayers.

Fast forward to today, celebrating what we are thankful for. I’m THANKFUL for my FAMILY! I’m THANKFUL for my HUSBAND who was the shoulder that I cried on so many times this year. I’m THANKFUL for FRIENDS who reached out and prayed, who reached out and said they would get tested to see if they were a match. I’m THANKFUL for my DAD AND MOM as they are the strong ones and my rock when something is wrong! WHAT IM THANKFUL FOR MOST THIS YEAR IS MY BROTHER!!! WE GOT AN EARLY CHRISTMAS GIFT THIS WEEK!!!! My brother is the best match for my dad all test came back great and surgery is scheduled for Dec. 20th. AMEN and PRAISE GOD, what a wonderful gift this is and what a wonderful day today was being together as a family. Christmas will be different this year and both my brother and dad will mostly like be in the hospital but what a great gift we just received and it’s all to the glory of God and to my selfless brother who loves his dad so much!

I ask that you continue to pray for my family but more importantly pray for my dad and brother as they go through these next steps! They are nervous and anxious. So prayers for peaceof mind, prayers for the amazing surgeons and team of doctors that will be doing the procedures, prayers for my mom and my sister in law who will be the care takers once they are both released from the hospital! This is going to be a lot on all of us! So please keep the prayers and positive vibes coming.

I will keep everyone updated as we get closer!! Thank you God for this early Christmas gift and being able to truly celebrate the meaning of THANKSGIVING today because today I’m so THANKFUL for my family! I love them all so much!!! ♥️

Tommy Shafer who is a friend of mines husband who received a kidney this week. We are so excited for him and Paige Shafer as they can now continue a new journey with a new kidney!!! We are also so grateful for their knowledge and desire to help spread the word on kidney donation and to now help my dad hopefully get a kidney soon as well!! Praise God for this man and his new kidney and keep the prayers coming for my dad!!!
