I started this center because I believed in what sound healing could do for people. Reading your words about sleeping deeply, releasing old tension, starting the week feeling grounded reminds me exactly why.

If you’ve been curious about what a sound bath actually feels like, our reviews page is a beautiful place to start. And if you’re ready to experience it for yourself, our next session is waiting for you.

You’ve been in a session. You felt something shift. And somewhere on the drive home, a thought surfaced:

What if I could do this for myself?

Now you can.

The Sound Healing Center of Lexington now carries a small but growing collection of sound healing instruments — chimes, rain drums, frame drums, singing bowls, and more — available right here in Lexington. No waiting for shipping. No guessing from a product photo. You can hold it, play it, and feel it before it comes home with you.

We’re starting small and building intentionally, the same way we do everything here. But if you’ve been looking for a way to bring more stillness, ritual, or sound into your daily life, this is a pretty good place to start.

Stop in before or after any session and take a look. We’d love to help you find the right instrument for where you are right now.

Most of us move through the day carrying more than we realize.

Tension we’ve stopped noticing. A low hum of anxiety that just feels normal now. A sense of being slightly off, even when nothing is technically wrong.

Your energetic system feels it before your mind does.

Aligned is a session led by Kevin Norris that works with the body’s seven energy centers — the chakras — using sound and Reiki to help clear what’s stuck and restore a sense of inner balance. It’s structured and intentional, moving through each center methodically so nothing gets skipped and nothing is rushed.

You don’t need to know anything about chakras or Reiki to benefit from this. You just need to be willing to lie down, get quiet, and let Kevin do the work.

This one is this Thursday night. Spots are still available.

There are things we carry that were never meant to stay.

Words that we rehearsed but never said.

Feelings we filed away because the moment passed, or because it felt too risky, or because we just didn’t know how.

Grief that never got a proper goodbye.

Forgiveness we haven’t quite figured out how to offer to someone else, or to ourselves.

This Sunday, you’ll write a letter you will never send.

Letters You’ll Never Send is a small-group experience built around honest emotional release.

This month’s theme is forgiveness. You’ll be guided through the process of putting words to what’s been living quietly inside you, while Pete’s handpan creates a steady, grounding soundscape underneath it all.

You don’t have to be a writer. You don’t have to have it figured out. You just have to be willing to show up and feel what’s there.

Some things don’t need to be sent to be set free.

What if the container changed everything?

A sound bath is already a powerful experience. But something shifts when you add warmth, when your body is already soft and open before the first bowl even sounds.

This Sunday, we’re doing something we’ve never done before. In collaboration with Urban Sweat, you can experience a guided sound bath inside a sauna, a light therapy room, or a classic mat setup, whichever environment calls to you.

The sound journey is the same across all three. What changes is how deeply your body is able to receive it.

This is a one-time offering. We don’t know yet if we’ll do it again. If you’ve been curious about sound healing but want something a little different, this might be your moment.

Sunday, April 19 | 3:15pm | Starting at $25 | Hosted at Urban Sweat, Lexington KY

There’s a moment when Pete plays the handpan where the room just... shifts.

It’s hard to explain if you haven’t heard one live.

The sound is somewhere between a harp, a drum, and something that doesn’t have a name yet.

It fills the space without overwhelming it. It lands in your chest before it reaches your ears.

This Saturday, Pete isn’t just playing for you, he’s inviting you in.

The History and Heart of the Handpan is an intimate, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn where this instrument came from, how it works, and how to actually play it yourself.

Pete will guide you through technique, personal practice, and how sound healing and the handpan can intersect in your own life.

This is a small group. It’s personal. And it’s the kind of afternoon you’ll think about for a long time.

Ever tried to relax, but your body just wouldn’t cooperate?

You lie still, but something feels restless. Fidgety. Like your body has its own agenda.

That’s what I call “the squirmies,” and it’s one of the biggest reasons people struggle to fully sink into a sound bath.

This Saturday, Meredith Pritchett is leading a Sound & Slow Movement session designed to solve exactly that. Simple, slow movements and gentle breathwork help shake the squirmies loose, so that by the time you settle in to receive the sound, your body is actually ready.

No experience needed. No props. No complicated poses. Just gentle movement, your breath, and the rich, layered sounds of Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, a rainstick, an ocean drum, and rattles.

Come as you are. Leave feeling like yourself again.

You already know how to relax. You just need a reminder.

Regularly attending sound baths trains your brain to drop into a peaceful state quickly. Within a few weeks, you can “drop in” to deep relaxation almost on cue.

With each strike of a bowl, the sound draws your awareness back into the present moment. You may even zone out for a while, only to realize it when the sound shifts from one note to the next.

I love what Farzana Ali writes in Sound Healing: How to Use Sound to Beat Stress & Anxiety:

“Sound is emotive and healing. It is therapeutic and nourishing. Life-affirming and challenging. It can motivate and spur you forward, streamline your thoughts and cut out the noise. As a meditative tool, sound taps into a part of the process of healing, reflection, nourishment and resetting in a way that words simply can’t. It allows people who do not have or want to use their words to delve into a space of self-discovery. Sound is an immersive, full-bodied, somatic experience—a calling into our subconscious, our inner sanctum and our innate wisdom.”

That’s the power of what we’re tapping into on Sunday.

Join me for a sound bath featuring crystal singing bowls, and together, let’s float away in a sea of soundwaves. Space is limited, so save your spot via the link in my bio.

Each one of these three frame drums carries its own voice.

The Fairy Spirit Drum, the Witches Knot Drum, and the Earth Gaia Shaman Drum.

All handmade, hand-painted frame drums, each with a distinct tone and character.

Frame drums have been used across cultures for centuries as a tool for rhythm, focus, and connection.

The steady, repetitive beat is known to help regulate the nervous system and support a meditative state.

It’s why drumming has long been used in ceremony, journeying, and personal practice.

You don’t have to be a musician to work with a drum like this.

You use it to:
• create a steady rhythm for meditation
• support breathwork or energy work
• anchor a group experience
• or simply give your hands something to follow when your mind needs quiet

Each of these drums is made with goat hide, which means the tone is organic and responsive.

It shifts slightly with temperature and humidity, making it feel alive in your hands.

16” drums: $239 (Fairy Spirit and Witches Knot)
18” drum: $249 (Earth Gaia)
Drum display stand: $90

If you’ve been curious about working with a frame drum, you’re welcome to come in, sit with them, and feel the rhythm for yourself.
