Not every student has a happy home life, and the holiday season can lead to increased stress for teens. Studies show the mental health of our high school students continues to be a significant national concern.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that among U.S. high school students: 40 percent of students had persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness, 20 percent of students seriously considered su***de and nearly nine percent had attempted su***de.

The study reported that girls, LGBTQ+ students and those across racial and ethnic groups were more likely to struggle with their mental health, impacting their grades, decision-making skills and overall health.

Schools and community partners can help students who are at risk for mental health concerns. We are here to partner with schools, students and their families to help them get through the holiday season with programs that specialize in treating teens. Call us today at (859) 269-2325 for a confidential, level-of-care assessment.
