Palmetto Ophthalmology’s offices are in Lexington, SC and Leesville, SC, and we see patients from the Columbia area and throughout South Carolina. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Answer and direct calls in a professional, friendly manner
• Take accurate messages and deliver them to the appropriate party as soon as possible
• Perform data entry of new patient profiles and update existing ones in the database
• Ability to operate standard office equipment
• Receive and process payments
• Schedule appointments
• Filing, sort and distribute faxes and mail
• Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills with ability to prioritize work flow according to immediate demands in a fast-paced environment
• Must maintain confidentiality of patient care and records
• Great customer service skills
• Attention to detail
• Enthusiastic
• Reliable transportation as we do have two locations (Lexington and Batesburg-Leesville)

The ideal candidate is capable of prioritizing patient care while effectively multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Start Date: Immediately

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Obtains and accurately records medical history from patients
• Performs vision screenings and other forms of ocular testing
• Ability to be proactive and take initiative
• Exhibits a high level of quality through attention to detail
• Ensures clear and efficient communication with physicians, staff, and patients
• Adheres to policies regarding safety, confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be flexible and have the ability to multitask while maintaining professionalism
• Ability to use standard office equipment
• Possess the ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Prior ophthalmic experience is preferred, but not required
