We could not be more proud of her!! Brittany has been such an amazing addition to our practice!

Introducing 100 Women of the Bluegrass Nominee, Brittany Robinson!

Brittany was nominated by Aaron Guldenschuh-Gatten and is the President and Co-Founder of Recovery Cafe Lexington.

“Brittany Robinson is a compassionate, driven, empathetic, loving, and devoted leader at Recovery Cafe Lexington. Together with her spouse Jason, and three others, Brittany founded Recovery Cafe Lexington after a chance encounter at the original Recovery Cafe in Seattle, WA.

Brittany brings a passion for healing to her volunteer role at Recovery Cafe Lexington. As a former ICU nurse she knows first-hand the healing power of compassionate care. She believes and teaches that everyone, regardless of life circumstances, deserves dignity and respect, and the opportunity to heal.

In her work now as a mental health professional - Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Brittany leads our efforts to reduce mental health and substance use disorder related stigmas.

As a lead on su***de prevention and crisis intervention, Brittany has demonstrated that any effort big or small can have lasting impacts on individuals when that effort is made in love.

Brittany is a remarkably loving person deserving of recognition because of her tireless work to create safe and healing spaces as a sanctuary of recovery for everyone, especially the left out and left behind.”

𝙇𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙨 𝙈𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙚⁣ 😂💊⁣

Nothing works faster or More dependably to bring your body & mind back into balance than a good laugh.⁣

Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hope and connects you to others to keep you grounded, focused and alert. ⁣

Children can laugh hundreds of times per day but as adults we become more serious and laugh more infrequently. ⁣

😆 I love to laugh and having a sense of humor (𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘬), has truly sustained me in some of the most difficult times of life. ⁣

It is important to realize that laughter doesn't mean you are not taking something seriously, it is simply helping you to cope. (As a hospice employee, I had to help my students understand that.) ⁣

𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝙗𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚. ⁣

𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲: ⁣
Boosts immunity⁣
Lowers stress hormones⁣
Decreases pain⁣
Relaxes your muscles⁣
Prevents heart disease⁣

𝙈𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝘽𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙙𝙚: ⁣
Strengthens resilience⁣
Adds joy and zest to life⁣
Eases anxiety and tension⁣
Relieves stress⁣
Improves mood⁣

𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝘽𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙙𝙚 ⁣
Strengthens relationships⁣
Attracts others to us⁣
Enhances teamwork⁣
Helps defuse conflict⁣
Promotes group bonding⁣

Do you need to bring more laughter into your life? Try these suggestions:⁣

🙂 𝗦𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲: a smile is the beginning of laughter and like laughter, it is contagious. ⁣
✔️ 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: looking at the positive distances you from negative thoughts that block humor. ⁣
😆 𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙡𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙚𝙧, move toward it: people are often willing to share what is funny because it gives them the opportunity to laugh again. ⁣
🙋🏼‍♀️ 𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙛𝙪𝙣, 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚: it helps to be around those who can find humor in everyday events. ⁣
❓ 𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙪𝙢𝙤𝙧 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨: ask others “what’s the funniest thing that happened, today, this week, in your life? ⁣

𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆? ⁣
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵?
