I’ve been around a while, practicing yoga now for over 33 years. Although I’m not as strong as I once was, where there was more strength there is now more wisdom. I no longer aspire towards difficult poses. I don’t crank the tempo as high or do tons of jump backs to chaturanga .Some things are simply not as accessible or even as desirable as they used to be.
These days I am enjoying teaching and practicing slow to moderately paced movement. I'm emphasizing deeper, purposeful alignment and breath work in poses, and using the practice to cultivate self-compassion and self-care. I am employing “targeted activation” to facilitate and strengthen neuromuscular connections and balance as well as mindfulness, to experience more layers of self in each moment of practice. My process and movements are more intelligent than they used to be. I'm receptive, better educated and able to process and appreciate more of the experience that is occurring in each moment. This is what you can expect in your practice with me either in a group setting or privately constructed personal session. Our yoga practices evolves. The adventure continues.
