Kentucky Association of Health Plans

Kentucky Association of Health Plans KAHP is the trade association for Kentucky’s health insurance industry. KAHP is comprised of all carriers offering health plans in Kentucky.

We work together with the community to provide effective health solutions for consumers, employers, and public purchasers. Four Pillars of our Work:

ADVOCACY
KAHP develops and promotes a legislative and regulatory agenda focusing on high-quality health insurance that is affordable for employers, consumers, and public purchasers. The Association actively participates in the development of health care policy and works to inform legislators and policymakers about health issues that affect the cost and quality of health care in Kentucky. EDUCATION
KAHP educates media and the public about our philosophy of competition, choice, and strong patient protections, the benefits health plans provide, and how specific health policies impact Kentuckians. INNOVATION
KAHP is working toward new solutions in care to ensure Kentucky is a national leader in health insurance coverage options. COLLABORATION
KAHP promotes opportunities and forums to meet, exchange ideas, and discuss critical issues affecting health care. The result is stronger relationships between health plans, community and provider stakeholders, as well as government partners.

It is TIME…… Our BIG Announcement….

🚐💛 WE’RE GOING MOBILE! 💛🚐

Big news from Cuddles & Coo Diaper Pantry — we’re launching our Mobile Diaper Pantry! Huge blessing for this partnership with Kentucky Association of Health Plans‼️

Our mobile pantry will allow us to meet families where they are, removing barriers by delivering:
🍼 Diapers
👶 Pull-ups
🧻 Wipes
🌸 Menstrual items

Just like our office pantry, we’ll follow the same guidelines and commitment to dignity — but now we’ll be able to reach families who may not have access to transportation or nearby resources.

🚍 Each month, our Mobile Diaper Pantry will travel to targeted areas across the state of Kentucky, bringing essential items directly to the communities that need them most.

Kentucky families are already feeling the squeeze. The last thing we need is a $1,175.52 annual increase in health insurance premiums.

But that’s the projected cost if every 2026 mandate bill becomes law. https://loom.ly/-qrkgW4

The Kentucky General Assembly is now a little over a month into their 2026 legislative session.  As legislators examine how they can enhance affordability of health care, one solution is quite apparent − lawmakers can and should halt introducing and passing health insurance mandate bills.

Kentucky’s Medicaid MCOs have demonstrated strong quality performance with clear improvement in recent years. For NCQA’s (National Committee for Quality Assurance) ‘24-’25 Medicaid MCO Quality Rankings, KY’s MCOs are ranked in TOP 10 of state ratings.

Legislative health mandates add cost to premiums for working families. The General Assembly should reject mandate bills. Learn more:
