Kentucky Association of Health Plans

Kentucky Association of Health Plans KAHP is the trade association for Kentucky’s health insurance industry. KAHP is comprised of all carriers offering health plans in Kentucky.

We work together with the community to provide effective health solutions for consumers, employers, and public purchasers. Four Pillars of our Work:

ADVOCACY
KAHP develops and promotes a legislative and regulatory agenda focusing on high-quality health insurance that is affordable for employers, consumers, and public purchasers. The Association actively participates in the development of health care policy and works to inform legislators and policymakers about health issues that affect the cost and quality of health care in Kentucky. EDUCATION
KAHP educates media and the public about our philosophy of competition, choice, and strong patient protections, the benefits health plans provide, and how specific health policies impact Kentuckians. INNOVATION
KAHP is working toward new solutions in care to ensure Kentucky is a national leader in health insurance coverage options. COLLABORATION
KAHP promotes opportunities and forums to meet, exchange ideas, and discuss critical issues affecting health care. The result is stronger relationships between health plans, community and provider stakeholders, as well as government partners.

KAHP is proud to announce a $500,000 investment in Samaritan to support 500 Medicaid members in Louisville and Lexington who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

This partnership reflects KAHP’s commitment to improving health outcomes by addressing the practical barriers that keep people from staying connected to care. Samaritan’s platform equips trusted community organizations such as Goodwill Kentucky, The Hope Buss, Volunteers of America Mid-States, St. Vincent de Paul, and Arthur Street Hotel with tools that help Members follow through on care plans and take important steps toward stability.

Small supports delivered at the right time can prevent missed appointments, reduce avoidable emergency department visits, and help individuals stay engaged with their care teams. We look forward to expanding this approach with community leaders across Louisville and Lexington. https://loom.ly/gFMDKhA
