The psoas is one of my favorite places to work. Mostly because itβs often an overlooked reason for lower back and hip pain. While I donβt agree that psoas pain is uncommon or always the result of injury, this article gives common signs that your psoas is tight and can use some work. Two big signs I ask clients is:
1. When you go grocery shopping do you feel the need to lean on the cart?
2. When you lay flat, is painful or when you first get out of bed, do you find it difficult to stand up straight?
It also gives some of the same stretches I suggest to clients to help loosen the muscle and to help make psoas release a bit less intense.
