We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller/Collector to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the billing and collection processes, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit accurate claims using CPT coding, ICD-10 and ICD coding standards.
• Review and verify medical records for completeness and accuracy to support billing processes.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and outstanding balances through effective collection strategies.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance requirements during billing and collection activates.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all billing and collection activates with EMR/HER systems.
• Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve billing discrepancies and patient account issues.
• Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines and insurance policies to ensure proper claim submission.
• Manage medical records confidentiality in accordance with IIPAA regulations.
Experience
• Proven experience in medical billing and collections, preferably within a healthcare or medical office setting.
• Strong knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10, ICD coding, and medical terminology.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and HER systems used for electronic health records management.
• Prior experience with medical coding and understanding of medical office workflows is highly desirable.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all billing activities.
This role is essential for maintaining the financial health of the practice while supporting efficient patient care operations. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, technical expertise in medical coding, and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of billing and collections.
