🎉 Time to practice the F sound! 🎉

The “F” sound can be tricky for kiddos, but practicing in different word positions makes it easier and more fun. Here are some examples to try at home:

👉 Initial (beginning): Fish, Fan, Five, Fun
👉 Medial (middle): Coffee, Sofa, Muffin
👉 Final (ending): Leaf, Roof, Puff

💡 Tip: Have your child watch your mouth while you say the words — notice how the top teeth gently touch the bottom lip when making the “F” sound.

Keep it playful and positive, and celebrate every try! 💚

💬 Speech + Language Check-In (1–1.5 years) 💬

By 18 months, many children are starting to:

👀 Look around when asked “where” questions
🎾 Follow simple directions like “give me the ball”
👂 Identify one or more body parts
👏 Use gestures like clapping or high fives
👉 Point to make requests or share information
🗣️ Use strings of sounds, syllables, and words with grown-up-like inflection

👉 If your child is not yet showing these skills, it may be a good time to check in with a speech-language pathologist. Early support makes a big difference! 💛
