Alpha Event Medicine was founded by a partnership of EMS providers, emergency medicine physicians, and ER nurses with a goal of raising the bar for event safety in Kentucky. Our team is composed of a collection of experts with leadership experience providing care at the pinnacle of sports and entertainment, including SEC Football, SEC Basketball, the PGA Tour, NASCAR, IRL, Thoroughbred Racing at the most prestigious venues, elite equine events such as the Land Rover Three Day Event, and a wide variety of other mass gatherings. We have a team of paramedics, EMTs, and medical professionals that can provide turnkey solutions to on-site patient care and transport for your public or private event. Our providers are well integrated and connected with local EMS services, emergency departments, and healthcare organizations to provide effective communication and transitions of care.

Meet Our Churchill Track & Paddock Team for the Fall Race Meet!

Horse racing is a vital part of Kentucky’s identity, and supporting those on the track is at the core of what we do. As one of the highest-risk sports we cover, it demands skilled, fast, and informed medical response for jockeys, starters, outriders, and all trackside personnel.

Our dedicated Alpha Team at Churchill Downs is trained specifically for the unique challenges of equine sports. From race-day logistics to emergency response, they’re equipped to provide the care and support needed in high-pressure moments.

We’re proud to support the fall meet with a team focused on safety, speed, and expert care, helping ensure a smooth and secure experience for everyone who makes race day possible.

Jarod has been in EMS since 2004. He started part-time as an EMT while working full-time as a 911 dispatcher, juggling both for years until he made the jump to full-time EMS in 2009. While working full time at two services, he also went through paramedic school. Eventually, he landed a full-time spot at Jessamine EMS and worked his way up to shift commander.

Jarod came on board with Alpha in 2022, and we truly can’t put into words how lucky we are to have him! He’s the definition of a natural leader and excels no matter the role.
