✨ OT Wellness Wednesday✨
Nervous system regulation is for the whole family. Dr. Day sees the child and parent as a dyad. Through the power of connection (to resources, relationships, and tools), clients learn to set up environments, routines, and skills to thrive in their daily activities and roles. Our sensory integration assessments, occupational profiles, and reflex knowledge extends across the lifespan— so when you have an occupational disruption (time of intense stress, change, or injury), we have the tools to help you get through the hard time and feel prepared for the future. It’s the kind of hope and lifestyle change that transforms the whole body-mind system. While some medicine aims to put a quick “band-aide” on or “cure” issues, we dive into the whole story of your healing to give you a wellness plan for the future that not only gets you through but step-by-step invites change, hope, perspective-taking, self-knowledge of sensory preferences, & emotional regulation. From exercises to mindfulness to visual supports to expressive activities, no plan is the same. It’s individualized…. based on evidence and tailored to you! So if you are lost in the laundry, overwhelmed by homework, anxious, stunned by your family’s new diagnosis, or disorganized, there’s hope & a place of healing for you here. We encourage parents to attend therapy with their child so they can also learn sensory integration, strengthening, reflex work, & self-regulation strategies.
