This is my message for my peers:
I have been working on making my business flourish. First, without insurance, and now with. By myself, no staff, no social media person. I have been reaching out to other professional women, very open, supportive peers who are also business owners trying to figure out this process.
I have found the marketing end daunting, in addition to all of the regulations and requirements of being licensed in three states, both with business licenses and Counseling licenses. It is more than I want to do. And the promotion piece is not enjoyable to me.
Jenna Longmire, MA, LPC & Tree of Life Temple introduced me to the Ninth Wave collaborative a year ago, and I have circled and watched. This last week I went to my first meeting. And, wow! I was in a Zoom meeting with intelligent, savvy, grounded, magical women. All were Divine Feminine oriented, all had some media - music, books they have written, retreats...The whole point of this venture is for women to COLLABORATE, not COMPETE with other women. The idea is we lift up with our strength women who need more support, promote those who have something to promote, and get away from an obsession with SEOs, "likes," and other wheel-spinning, mind-numbing endeavors.
This capitalist culture requires competition, the whole underlying message of misogyny, racism, and fundamentalist religion (the chosen ones?) is: that there's only so much to go around. Whether that is support, funds, other resources, love, compassion, land...whatever is deemed necessary is limited in this culture. But with the Divine Feminine, with women who have stepped out of the dominant culture, there is always ENOUGH. Why? Because MAMA's here! The Divine Mother is open, loving, giving, and will call you out when necessary, but she is not here to compete or demand devotion or obsequiousness.
And the is the same. Women come together to lift up women. The less you have, the more support you get. There is intentional practice for BIPOC women - they are in the Wave to receive only.
