If this warm, sunny stretch is any sign of what’s ahead, we’re in for a perfect spring day—great food, great music, and a great reason to gather. Enjoy fresh oysters, delicious BBQ, a great selection of craft beer and wine, and live bluegrass from Gary Ruley and Mule Train.
Bring your family, invite a few friends, and spend the day doing something fun for a good cause. Proceeds support charitable health care for our neighbors—so access to care isn’t determined by insurance status.
This week was Dental Assistant Appreciation Week—and today is Dentist’s Day. We want to recognize the dentists and dental assistants at Rockbridge Area Health Center who care for our patients every day with professionalism, patience, and kindness.
We’re also grateful for the dental team’s work in our schools. For more than 12 years, RAHC has provided in-school dental services—helping students get exams, cleanings, and preventive care right where they learn.
Please join us in saying thank you: give this post a 👍 or leave a comment with a shout-out to your favorite dentist or dental assistant (and why they’re your favorite).

Good news for Mountain View Elementary School families!
The Rockbridge Area Health Center is making it easier for students to get the care they need right from school. We are using a special handheld tool called TytoCare.
With TytoCare, our doctors and nurses can now check a student's ears, throat, heart, and lungs remotely without them ever having to leave the school building. The school nurse will use the tool, and our provider will see and hear everything from the clinic.
Why this matters:
💜 Kids stay in class: 90% of students go right back to their desks after their virtual visit.
💜 Parents stay at work: No more unnecessary trips to the doctor for a simple earache or sore throat.
💜 Peace of mind: High-quality care is now easier to get for everyone.

The Rockbridge Area Health Center is a designated Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and provides comprehensive primary and preventive health care to adults and children and serves insured, uninsured, under-insured, Medicaid and Medicare patients.
As a community health center, RAHC is a private, local, non-profit organization that provides health care services to residents of a geographic area that is medically underserved. Rockbridge Area Health Center (RAHC) transitioned to a community health center in 2014 and serves anyone, regardless of ability to pay. Providing medical, dental, and behavioral health services under one roof, the health center’s mission has remained the same since opening its doors in 1992; to promote and provide access to comprehensive, high-quality, and affordable health care to improve the health and well-being of the community.
To meet the growing needs of the community, a $6.6 million building expansion was completed in 2019 that more than doubled the facility’s size, from a single floor of 9,000 sq. ft. to approximately 24,000 sq. ft. of space on two floors. The more spacious facility allows for greater access to primary medical care, such as family and internal medicine, by increasing the number of exam rooms from six to twelve, and to dental services by increasing the number of operatories from four to eight. Other services provided include pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, preventive care, and behavioral health services.
