This holiday season, what if the best gift you could give was the gift of hope? ✨

For many of our neighbors, hope looks like access to the healthcare they need to thrive. At Rockbridge Area Health Center, we provide that hope through action—delivering medical, dental, and behavioral health services in our clinics, in schools, and on the road with our mobile units.

Your year-end gift makes a direct impact:
❤️ It ensures a child can get well and return to the classroom.
❤️ It provides a veteran with the dedicated care they've earned.
❤️ It brings comfort and healing to a family facing a health crisis.

This season, help us bring health and hope to every corner of our community.

Even the Grinch would have a hard time being grumpy around this crew. 🎄

They might be rocking the Grinch sweatshirts, but we can confirm their hearts have all grown at least three sizes this holiday season.

All jokes aside, we're so grateful for our incredible medical team, who show up with holiday spirit and a whole lot of heart, every single day. Wishing everyone a holiday season full of warmth and health!

Happy National Handwashing Awareness Month!

✨ Let's give a high-five to clean hands.
Your hands are great at a lot of things, but they're also expert germ collectors. Here are the Golden Rules of Hand Awareness to keep you healthy and safe:

🧼 Wash your hands when they’re dirty and always before you eat! A 20-second scrub with soap and water is a germ’s worst nightmare.
💪 Instead of coughing or sneezing into your hands, cough into your elbow.
👀👃👄 Your eyes, nose, and mouth are a VIP section. Keep your fingers out! This is one of the best ways to stop germs from getting in.

Chelsey and Kathy go above and beyond every day to make sure our claims are accurate, clean, and paid promptly. They’re the ones solving the hidden puzzles behind the scenes, work that’s absolutely vital to RAHC’s financial health and to the care we provide in our community. Their pursuit of excellence not only supports our billing and finance teams but also strengthens RAHC’s mission as a whole.

Congratulations on this well-deserved accomplishment! We couldn’t be prouder of the dedication and heart they bring to their work every single day!

Our Story

The Rockbridge Area Health Center is a designated Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and provides comprehensive primary and preventive health care to adults and children and serves insured, uninsured, under-insured, Medicaid and Medicare patients.

As a community health center, RAHC is a private, local, non-profit organization that provides health care services to residents of a geographic area that is medically underserved. Rockbridge Area Health Center (RAHC) transitioned to a community health center in 2014 and serves anyone, regardless of ability to pay. Providing medical, dental, and behavioral health services under one roof, the health center’s mission has remained the same since opening its doors in 1992; to promote and provide access to comprehensive, high-quality, and affordable health care to improve the health and well-being of the community.

To meet the growing needs of the community, a $6.6 million building expansion was completed in 2019 that more than doubled the facility’s size, from a single floor of 9,000 sq. ft. to approximately 24,000 sq. ft. of space on two floors. The more spacious facility allows for greater access to primary medical care, such as family and internal medicine, by increasing the number of exam rooms from six to twelve, and to dental services by increasing the number of operatories from four to eight. Other services provided include pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, preventive care, and behavioral health services.
