⭐ Gabby Sager
Spanish Interpreter | June 28, 2008
For 18 years, Gabby has been so much more than a Spanish interpreter at Plum Creek Medical Group. She’s a problem‑solver, a hard worker and a steady source of support for patients and staff. She’s known for stepping in wherever she’s needed and always has a hard time saying no, simply because she cares that much.
Gabby’s compassion and dedication have shaped countless patient experiences and strengthened our team in immeasurable ways. ✨
• How did you end up at PCMG?
I had recently moved here from California, was attending college part-time, and needed a job. I saw an ad in the newspaper, and my older sister encouraged me to apply; even though I really didn’t want to. She kept insisting, so I finally gave in and applied. I interviewed and was working here two days later. In my mind, this was only supposed to be a temporary job until I finished school…
• What has kept you here over the years?
It’s rewarding to know that, even in a small way, I’m able to help someone. When I interpret for a patient, I’m able to help them communicate with the provider so they can receive the care they need. But honestly, a huge part of it is also my coworkers. It’s rare to find a workplace where you genuinely get along with almost everyone. We work hard, laugh a lot, and support each other like family, which definitely makes coming to work easier.
• What’s one thing people may not know about your role at PCMG?
I don’t just interpret; I also help manage and create content for our social media and website, monitor our patient portal (FollowMyHealth), organize holiday festivities, potlucks, and dress-up days at PCMG, and help coordinate community engagement events. Lately, I’ve also been training to help draw blood and run lab tests.
• What do you appreciate most about your coworkers?
Their patience with me, because sometimes I know I’m a 'little' all over the place. I truly consider my coworkers my extended family. I’ve spent my entire adult life here, and many of them have been alongside me through some of my biggest life milestones. That kind of connection is really special and not something I take for granted.
• What do you do for fun when you’re not at work?
Sports. My current obsession is pickleball, but I also play on soccer, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee teams. I also enjoy going to the movies with my family and attending my kids’ sporting events.
• What’s your biggest accomplishment?
My kids! Seeing them grow into their own unique personalities and watching them learn, grow, and accomplish things of their own.
• If you could be any animal for a day, what would you be?
Right now, I would say one of my house cats. I wouldn't mind living the ultimate rent-free luxury lifestyle with zero work obligations and up to 15 hours of naps a day. Free meals arriving on demand, your human servants adoring you endlessly, and your days are completely stress-free. NO bills, no job, no alarm clocks, just pure leisure and relaxation.
Gabby, thank you for 18 years of heart, service, and unwavering commitment. We are truly grateful for you. Congratulations on this incredible milestone! 🎉💜
