💬 Get to Know Angie:
How did you get into this field?
- “My Friend Bobbie pushed me. One day she registered me (into nursing school) and said… “Here, this is the date you start school.” 3 years prior I had brought my daughter in for her 6 month well child check; Bobbie (Dr. Ford’s nurse at that time) asked if I was bilingual and needed a job. While I waited for Dr. John Ford, she handed me a job application. I told her I couldn’t do the job, she said “Yes you can!
How has your role evolved since you started at PCMG?
- “I started at the front desk, as a receptionist. I worked at reception for 3 years then was asked if I wanted to be Dr. John Ford’s personal interpreter and assist in his area. I have been working with Dr. Ford for the past 23 years!”
What does your typical workday look like for you?
- “I get to my area and start prepping charts, when done with that I try help other areas. Once my doctor gets here, I get ready for my day to really start. I bring patients back to the rooms, get vitals and a bit more information. Then I put all the information into the patient’s chart. In between patients, I send meds to the pharmacy, call patients back, make referral appointments, send faxes and try to catch up with anything pending from earlier in the day and the day before. I come to work and plan to work hard.”
Where Did you grow up?
- “In California….Porterville. I moved to Nebraska in 1995, and I’ve been here since.”
What’s your favorite way to start the day?
- “With a very large cup of coffee and morning talk shows; if those get boring I get on Tiktok.”
What’s one thing you can’t live without?
- “44oz of Coke, I can’t work without that!”
What’s your go to Karaoke song?
- “Shania Twain’s ‘Man! I feel like a Woman!’ It’s a happy song to get the party started.”
We are beyond proud and grateful to have Angie as part of our PCMG team. Thank you for your many years of service and congratulations on this incredible work anniversary. Here’s to celebrating you today and many more years to come! 💙🎉
