During the 2025 federal government shutdown, Kentucky WIC participants should continue to use their eWIC cards to purchase WIC foods. WIC-approved stores will continue to be able to process purchases. We encourage families to keep their WIC appointments and stay in contact with their local WIC clinics.

We are monitoring the situation closely and are doing everything we can to ensure continued services to Kentucky’s families.

We will provide as much notice of potential impact as possible to participants, local WIC agencies, authorized WIC vendors, and partners as more information becomes available.

Mental health isn’t just about what’s going on inside. It’s also shaped by how we’re treated, what we have access to, and what’s expected of us. For BIPOC communities, these factors can have an even bigger impact on mental health.
