Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting the HIPSS (Healthcare Industry Professionals Serving Seniors) group here at Hospice of Davidson County. Our Nurse Practitioner, Elizabeth, provided an informative and engaging presentation on the differences between Hospice and Palliative Care services, helping to clarify how each supports patients and families at different stages of serious illness.

We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to the thoughtful discussion. A special thank-you to our chef, Angie, for preparing a delicious lunch of brisket sandwiches that helped make the gathering even more welcoming.

We appreciate opportunities like this to connect, collaborate, and continue educating our community partners as we work together to serve seniors with compassion and excellence.

As we close out 2025, we reflect on a truly meaningful year—one in which we had the honor of celebrating 40 years of service to our community. For four decades, we have walked alongside patients and families, offering compassion, comfort, and support during life’s most important moments.

This anniversary year allowed us to pause, remember where we began, and celebrate the countless meaningful moments shared with those we serve. We are deeply grateful for the trust our community continues to place in us and for the dedication of our staff, volunteers, board members, and community partners who help make our mission possible.

As we look ahead to 2026, we remain committed to supporting our community with comfort and compassion—today and always.

On December 10th, members of our We Honor Veterans Committee attended the Veterans Breakfast at Richard Childress Racing, and what an incredible turnout it was.

We are always grateful for opportunities to connect with and honor the Veterans in our community. Events like this—and our pinning ceremonies throughout the year—allow us to express our deepest appreciation for their service and sacrifice.

Thank you to everyone, including Veterans Bridge Home, who helped make this meaningful gathering possible. 🤍

Warm Holiday Wishes from Our Hospice Family to Yours

As we enter this special season, we are reminded of the power of community, connection, and the meaningful moments that shape our lives. The holidays can be tender for many — a time of reflection, remembrance, and love — and we hold each of you close in our hearts.

This year has been especially significant as we celebrate 40 years of service to our community. Four decades of walking alongside families, offering comfort, compassion, and support during some of life’s most important moments. We are humbled by the trust you continue to place in us.

To our incredible staff, dedicated volunteers, and supportive board members — thank you. Your kindness, expertise, and unwavering commitment make our mission possible. Each of you help create more meaningful moments for the patients and families we serve, and we are grateful for all you do.

From all of us at Hospice of Davidson County — thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives, your stories, and your meaningful moments.

Pictured below is one of our incredible volunteers, Joy. When she joined Hospice of Davidson County about a year ago, she shared her passion for landscaping and expressed a desire to help restore our Serenity Garden—including the beloved rose beds. 🌹

For several months, Joy dedicated her volunteer hours to bringing this space back to life. With the help of her husband, Wayne, the two of them poured their time, care, and expertise into transforming the garden into what it was always meant to be: a peaceful, beautiful space for visitors, patients, volunteers, and staff to enjoy.

Thanks to their hard work, the sunlight now shines through the Serenity Garden just as we imagined from the beginning—calm, welcoming, and full of life.

We are deeply grateful to Joy and Wayne for their commitment, attention to detail, and the love they put into this project. Joy, we are so thankful to have you on our volunteer team.

Please join us in thanking Joy and her husband, Wayne, for creating a space that will be cherished by so many. 💚

We are excited to share that our Chief Administrative Officer, Aaron Holt, has been named an “Executive to Watch” by HospiceNews—an honor that recognizes influential leaders in healthcare and organizational management.

Aaron shares, that when he first joined Hospice of Davidson County, he believed the role would be a step toward building his résumé, however, what he didn’t expect to find was something far more meaningful—a deep connection to the mission, the people, and the way our organization shows up for the community every single day. What began as a job quickly became something he genuinely cares about and is proud to be part of.

In reflecting on this recognition, he shared that the award is both humbling and unexpected. He does not view it as a personal achievement, but rather as a reflection of the incredible people he works alongside and the supportive, mission-driven environment we have built together. He is deeply grateful for the trust and encouragement that surrounds him.

Please join us in congratulating Aaron on this well-deserved recognition! 💚
