From back pain to migraines, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) is an effective treatment for a wide range of conditions. As a Doctor of Osteopathic medicine (D.O.), I will work hands-on with your joints, tendons, ligaments, and muscles using stretching, resistance, and pressure techniques to reduce impediments and restrictions. Bringing your body into better alignment is the first step in a more holistic approach including diet and exercise. This manual therapy treatment can also effectively complement more traditional medicine or surgery.

There are many benefits to exercise, including:

Improved physical health. Exercise can help you maintain a healthy weight, reduce your risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers, and strengthen your bones and muscles.

Improved mental health. Exercise can help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and improve your mood and cognitive function.

Improved sleep. Exercise can help you sleep better at night.

Increased energy levels. Exercise can help you feel more energized throughout the day.

Improved self-esteem. Exercise can help you feel better about your body and your overall health.

Improved social connection. Exercise can help you connect with others and build relationships.

There are many different types of exercise, so find something that you enjoy and that fits into your lifestyle. Even moderate-intensity exercise is better than none at all. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity exercise each week.

Here are some tips to get started with exercise:

Start slowly and gradually increase the amount of exercise you do each week.
Find an activity that you enjoy and that fits into your lifestyle.
Set realistic goals and track your progress.
Find a workout buddy or join a fitness class.
Make exercise a part of your daily routine.
Remember, even a little bit of exercise is better than none at all. So get up and move!

16 Things Everyone Learned in Kindergarten
From Robert Fulghum‘s best-selling book, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten. That book was first published in 1986 but its core message is as relevant today as ever.

1. Share everything.
2. Play fair.
3. Don’t hit people.
4. Put things back where you found them.
5. Clean up your own mess.
6. Don’t take things that aren’t yours.
7. Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody.
8. Wash your hands before you eat.
9. Flush.
10. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
11. Live a balanced life — learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
12. Take a nap every afternoon.
13. When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together.
14. Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.
15. Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup — they all die. So do we.
16. And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned — the biggest word of all — LOOK.
