Ribbon cutting day! 🤩

Today we celebrated with The Courage Center and the grand opening of their newest location here in Aiken! Cutting the ribbon is Executive Director Randy Rush and Program Coordinator Trish England. They are joined by staff, Aiken Chamber Board Chair Molly Jones, and members of the Aiken Chamber Ambassador Team.

The Courage Center provides a safe and supportive space for people of all ages and their families affected by substance use. Their services include peer recovery coaching, support groups, substance-free social events, life skills training, and counseling. They also lead initiatives like the campaign and the CORE Program to raise awareness and connect people to recovery resources. We are extremely excited to see them join an already supportive community.

The First Annual Rooted in Recovery event in Orangeburg was a huge success! Yesterday at The Country Club of Lexington, we came together to celebrate recovery, enjoy great food, and hear inspiring stories from Representative Jermaine Johnson and Courage Center Orangeburg Participants!

We’re so grateful for everyone who joined us and for the chance to share the many resources The Courage Center provides to the Orangeburg community. 💚

When addiction hit home for Susan and Scotty Mill, they were struck by how little support existed for families like theirs. Setting aside fear, stigma, and uncertainty, they made a courageous decision to change that — for everyone.

Out of that conviction came The Courage Center, founded in 2016 to meet the very needs the Millses had once faced alone. Built on the framework of a Recovery Community Organization, it evolved into an independent nonprofit dedicated to community education, outreach, peer recovery support, and advocacy.
