I've been keeping a little secret... Over the last 10 months I carried my own little blessing, my sweet daughter. She arrived almost a month ago and I'm deep in postpartum bliss 🥰

Birth story and birth photos to come, but just know if I've been a bit quiet or hard to reach for consults, this is why!

I have space for September/October due dates, otherwise I'm booking February 2026 clients already!

The incomparable is responsible for these lovely bump pics 💛

✨ Embodying Peace ✨

There are plenty of different ideas about the role of a midwife. While there are many potential tasks that might be required of me during a labor and birth, I find that at the heart of everything I do and how I do it is the idea of fully embodying peace in the space. says that what mothers need in birth is simple: reassurance.

You might need my prayers, you might need my hands on skills... You might need my words of encouragement or the strength of my arms to hold you. But perhaps the most powerful gift of the midwife is to show up with feet firmly planted on the floor, fully present in the moment, witnessing the mother in her power, and being a physical representation of peace and grounding in the space.

To be WITH woman, not just physically but also energetically, spiritually: fully present and attuned to her. A mother-of-the-mother once said to my preceptor and I after a birth "you people just exude calm!" And that's one of the kindest remarks, in my mind. My desire is that no matter what path your birth takes my presence brings peace and frees you to lean into the confidence that you were made to be a mother.

A rare photo of me just snugglin' a baby 😍

I attended an astonishing 40 births this year 😮

It was beautiful. It was magical. It was at times grueling. When I look back and realize exactly how many births I supported, on top of the countless prenatals and postpartums, the late night texts and phone calls, growing and tending my own three beautiful babies, attending skills days and trainings... I am humbled, honored, and stinking proud of the work that I, my husband and kids, and my extended network of support put in this year. God has been so good to me and mine.

Amidst all of these births were some extra special occasions: my one hundredth birth, which was a surprise breech baby and also my first primary-under-supervision birth. I got to support an amazing friend of mine as she became the mother of TWINS. The longest umbilical cord I've seen yet - 41 inches! I saw miracles happen. I saw mothers' stories redeemed as they found the strength within themselves.

My apprenticeship is coming to a close. I'm the next month or two I'll wrap up my final continuity of care births, submit my paperwork, and await a test date for the NARM exam. This was the year I became a midwife.

Last year on labor day, it was my birth of Wendell!
This year, the babies came out in force and I supported three beautiful laborious births... Happy labor day to everyone, but especially to the mamas and the birth workers who spent their day in labor land.

Feed yourself with same love you offer to your family.

Feeding yourself well is always a worthwhile task.

My husband was out of town, and my kids were asleep, and I was hungry. In moments like this, it's easy to settle for something lame that just fills my stomach, or worse: to not bother eating at all. But this time I chose to eat something nourishing, loving, and delicious.

In doing this for yourself, you do so much for your family and baby, especially if you're growing a baby - whether pregnant or nursing 💛

In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them... ...God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!

Women have been made good; in the image of a Creative God who is pleased with his own craftsmanship.

Your body and capacity to hold, sustain, and nurture life are gifts from God. Birth is meant to function harmoniously by nature. God had this purpose in mind when he formed you, and has given you everything you need. Lean into God, our greatest midwife: he is trustworthy.

Welcome, Wendell Grey!

You are so much that we didn’t see coming. This year has been quite the wild waiting for you, and your birth was such a reflection of God’s goodness. You are perfect, strong, and vital. You are ours, wanted and dearly loved.

Born at home on Labor Day, September 4 at 4:12 am. 9 lb 1 oz, 22 inches long, my biggest baby and my fastest birth at less than 4 hours of active labor. We’re all doing well and being so well cared for!

So much gratitude to for the photos, for her care, for her support, for her care through pregnancy, and to for her constant support as a sister and aunt 💛

✨ listening ✨

you’re 40 weeks pregnant and listening in to a sweet babe who’s about to be born!

True story, my unborn son has been to 24 births with me… I wonder how that affects the person he will be? I’ve loved toting this tiny babe to births with me, but I sure am looking forward to having him on the outside 💛

Thanks for snapping this picture of me in the student midwife role, recently!
