Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass

Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass The Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass is a healing place for sexually abused children.

The Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass is a nonprofit organization that seeks to reduce the trauma experienced by sexually abused children. The organization coordinates the investigation of child sexual abuse cases in the 17-county Bluegrass Region of Central Kentucky. The Children's Advocacy Center employs specially trained forensic interviewers, operates a full medical clinic to conduct sexual abuse examinations, and offers victim counseling and advocacy support to begin the healing process. All services are provided in a nurturing, friendly and safe environment at no cost to a child's family. CAC also provides education and training to improve community response to child sexual abuse.

The CAC of the Bluegrass team came together yesterday as Children's Advocacy Centers of Kentucky - CAC Kentucky honored the 2026 "Legendary Partners" nominees for their service to children and families throughout the state. Congratulations to CAC of the Bluegrass nominee, Anna Stark, a Specialized Investigator with the Northern Bluegrass Service Region of DCBS.

Anna has the distinct superpower of building authentic relationships with children so they feel heard, seen and cared for. However, the true gift of Anna is her ability, through relationship, to advocate and show up for each of her families, whether it be, in the courtroom, conversations, or any other means necessary.

We are so proud to work with her.

Some of the CAC of the Bluegrass staff are on their way home today from Huntsville, Alabama after attending the 42nd International Symposium on Child Abuse, presented by the National Children's Advocacy Center.

This is always a wonderful opportunity for our staff to learn, network, and gain new insights that will help us better serve children and families in Central Kentucky.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Today is a great opportunity to talk with your child about body safety. Remind them that they are the boss of their own body, and it’s always ok to speak up if something makes them uncomfortable - even a pinch for not wearing green!

One way we’re able to support children and families who visit our Center during a time of crisis is through these meal kits. Thanks to an amazing group of volunteers from Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Lexington, KY families can leave knowing they have a meal and all of the ingredients they will need to help feed their household for the week.

These kits provide comfort and support for those who need it most!
