Our community made the most of the beautiful weather by celebrating Earth Day in a hands-on (and green!) way. Residents worked together to spruce up our outdoor spaces, bringing fresh life and color to favorite areas.

The fun continued with tabletop gardening, where each resident selected a plant to grow and care for — a perfect way to connect with nature right at home. 🌿✨

Our community looked so elegant this week as we hosted our Keeneland-inspired Tea Party! It was such a wonderful afternoon spent with residents, families, and friends, celebrating the spirit of the races with a touch of class. 🎩🌸

Our guests enjoyed a delicious spread that would make any jockey proud, including classic chicken salad and cucumber tea sandwiches, decadent chocolate-covered cheesecake bites and brownie bites, fresh fruit, crisp veggies and a choice of refreshing cold drinks or comforting hot tea.

A very special thank you goes out to our incredible Activity group—and a huge shout-out to Luna and Susie! Your hard work and creative decorations truly transformed the room and made the event feel so authentic and special.

Last week, our Memory Care residents hit the road for a truly heart-warming adventure! We set off on a scenic drive, taking in the beautiful sights of local farms and majestic horses grazing in the fields.

Of course, no road trip is complete without a delicious stop for ice cream! 🍦😋

The best part of the day wasn't just the scenery or the sprinkles—it was the experience. Several of our residents shared that the sights of the countryside brought back so many wonderful memories of their own lives.

Join us for our Speak Out Weekly Therapy Class, a free program designed to help individuals improve their voice and communication skills. Led by certified SPEAK OUT! instructor Marissa Taylor from EmpowerMe Wellness, this class supports those experiencing speech changes related to Parkinson’s Disease or other neurological conditions.

Participants will learn practical techniques in a supportive, engaging environment—focused on helping every voice be heard.

We were honored to welcome Jane Williams, Executive Director of Parkinson's In Motion, to Highgrove for an impactful and informative presentation.

Jane shared her personal journey living with Parkinson’s disease, along with her passionate advocacy work supporting individuals across southern and eastern Kentucky. Residents and guests learned more about the organization’s mission to provide education, resources, and meaningful support, as well as innovative treatments and evidence-based exercises to improve quality of life.

Last Friday, the tiles were flying as our residents gathered for a classic game of Rummy!

A huge thank you to our very own resident, Nancy, for taking the lead! She did a wonderful job sharing her expertise and teaching the group the ropes as we kicked off this brand-new club. It’s heartwarming to see our residents sharing their talents and passions with one another.

Yesterday we hosted our Bloom into Brunch family event, and it was a wonderful time for residents, families, and friends to gather together. Guests enjoyed Brunch Punch, a delicious bagel station with smoked salmon, and a fun build-your-own pancake bar. 🥯🍓

After brunch, the entertainment continued with a magic show by Mark Comley, delighting guests of all ages.

It was a beautiful day filled with great food, laughter, and time spent together — everything that makes our community so special!

You'll also have the chance to openly discuss your own experiences, offer guidance, and receive support from fellow group members who understand firsthand the complexities of Parkinson's disease.

Our residents were busy in the kitchen this past Thursday, and the results were absolutely delicious! We put our baking skills to the test whipping up homemade cakes from scratch. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

But the fun didn't stop there! Once the cakes were ready, we used them to create beautiful tri-fold strawberry shortcakes. The best part? Each resident got to personalize their own with plenty of fresh strawberries and whipped cream. 🍓 😋

It was such a fun, hands-on afternoon filled with great conversation and even better treats. There’s just nothing like the taste of something homemade!
