Kentucky has seen a significant growth in the number of certified organic farms over the past decade with a 150% increase in the past 4 years. This is an important trend (even if it is a small subset of of the 75,000 farms in the state) because it highlights the momentum in this sector of agriculture as a viable livelihood for the modern farmer. Had dinner for the first time at Naive in Butchertown with my good friend Sarah Fritschner. So mad I didn’t take photos of our meals because they were mouth watering delicious. Go and enjoy and support a local restaurant that also supports local farms. Yum 😋!

I was weeding underneath a Japanese maple tree and found this egg (on the right) halfway buried in the dirt. No nest. Any idea what kind of egg it is? Pictured on the left is a large chicken egg.
