The levels of daily stress that we find ourselves under in our modern society is anything but normal. Unfortunately, this stress left unchecked or handled in unhealthy ways, takes its toll on our overall health in ways that are much bigger than most of us want to admit (mainly because it's been normalized). Reducing our stress is essential, but we can't eliminate it entirely. We have to learn how to proactively manage it.

Here are my top 3 steps to help you develop your stress management plan starting TODAY.

#1 Breathwork
It almost seems too easy and too basic to be true. But that’s the beauty of it. Breathwork is easy, can be done almost anywhere and has a ridiculous number of benefits: increasing energy, calming your stress response, promoting mental clarity, boosting your immune system function, helping digestion, improving your sleep quality, reducing pain, and detoxing the body!

Try box breathing - a simple and popular breathwork technique. Master this and you’ll have it ready to bust out whenever and wherever you need it! Use daily as a proactive measure, plus anytime it’s needed in the moment.

#2 Grounding
Grounding is really simple – it’s the practice of getting your bare feet on grass, dirt, and sand. Touching the earth and absorbing the ions and that energy from the earth is a really simple way to support and help balance your hormones.

You get this in high quantities on the beach, but you can recreate by being barefoot in your own yard every day. Yes, even in the winter. Make this a regular practice for a proactive approach to stress.

#3 Supplementation
My Stress Management bundle is what I personally take for powerful and effective stress and anxiety control! You can take it as needed, or for everyday maintenance through especially stressful times. I am never without these two in my cabinet.

Included in the bundle is Powerful, a comprehensive blend of three unique and well-researched forms of ashwagandha extract to help you manage the effects of stress (ashwagandha is an adaptogen that’s safe for almost everyone).

Also Joyful, which is power-packed with known stress-busting supports like B vitamins, Magnesium, Inositol, Chamomile, L-Theanine, 5-HTP and more. ALL THE GOOD STUFF!

Have you been told that your autoimmune disease is your body attacking “itself” and there’s no known reason for it? This is, at best, very misleading. Your body didn’t just wake up with a malfunctioning immune system and start attacking itself for fun. Your body will attack SOMETHING that is aggravating your immune system. And that’s what you need to get to the bottom of!

Years of investigation and working with clients who have autoimmune disease (over 80 known conditions now!), I have narrowed it down to the top 5 things that we find as the root causes of autoimmune conditions.

1) Infections like EBV, parasites and yeast
2) Leaky gut
3) Gluten and food allergies
4) Stress / trauma
5) Toxic load like mold, heavy metals and chemicals

Do you have an autoimmune condition, and have you been taught that there's another root cause behind it?

If you are a cycling female, it is important that you plan the intensity of your workouts based on which part of your cycle you’re on! This helps protect your hormones, when they’re already low, so that we don’t make them worse (and in turn make you feel worse), by pushing too hard with your exercise.

Let’s start with weeks one and three of your cycle. This is the week that you’re actually on your cycle, and then again in week three around ovulation. These weeks are the times that it’s hardest on us to work out.

During these weeks of our cycles, we’re really low in hormones. If we try and force ourselves to work out really hard in those times, we’re going to drain even the little bit of hormones that we have left.

So during weeks one and three of your cycle, when your hormones are at the lowest, the best exercises are low-intensity and not too taxing on your system. This is the perfect time to work on your stretching, to go for a walk or an easy bike ride. You can do something like Pilates, yoga, or a very gentle workout. Think about it as active recovery that’s really going to serve you in the more high-intensity weeks.

In weeks two and four, those are the perfect times to push your body during your workouts because our hormones are higher, we have more energy, and we’re able to repair quicker during those two weeks than we would be in week one and week three.

Have you had your gallbladder removed and been told it’s no big deal because the gallbladder doesn’t do much anyhow?

Do you actually feel worse on a more regular basis than you did before it was removed?

Your gallbladder does a LOT of different functions, so if you have it removed and don’t do anything to help support those functions, you can end up with a lot of negative side effects.

Things like inability to lose weight, thyroid issues, digestive problems, fatigue, and vitamin deficiencies.

Bile is produced by the liver and stored in the gallbladder, and helps you digest fat, so now you can’t digest and metabolize fats as well. Bile helps with detoxification, lowering inflammation, absorbing fat-soluble vitamins and more.

The #1 thing most people are missing is ox bile. It helps replace the bile that you don’t have in large quantities since you removed your gallbladder. After you’ve had your gallbladder removed, you need to add a gallbladder support that contains ox bile. And better yet, add a liver support with digestive enzymes to help support the entire process.

My Liver Gallbladder Complex is one of the most popular supplements in my signature line. This keeps selling out, but I currently have it in stock. https://drshannynpearce.myshopify.com/products/liver-gallbladder-complex

"This has been a life saver. I had my gastric bypass in 2012 and my gallbladder out in 2014. Ever since the gallbladder came out I have had issues, which only got worse once I hit menopause. I searched high and low for an answer with each time being told, this happens to some people who have their gallbladder out. Thank God I was watching Tik
Tok and came across one of your videos for something else - someone commented that they were using your Liver Gallbladder complex and how it had helped. I watched some of your other videos and I immediately ordered and now will be a customer for life... Thank you for the knowledge and wisdom now to know what is going on with my body... its not only helped but is giving me my quality of life back. THANK YOU!!!!" - Wendy H.

TSH is NOT the gold standard for a thyroid problem, as it’s often treated. When you make ONE THING the primary indicator of a health issue, and that one thing can be affected by a whole host of other root causes, then we have a serious problem. In this case, when TSH is out of range and it’s immediately labeled a thyroid problem, this is an extremely under-informed decision.

This is so important to understand! Especially when the first course of action is to put you on thyroid meds. There are actually multiple factors that could cause your TSH to be out of range, and yet your thyroid may be fine. You must look at the whole picture when it comes to your thyroid.

This includes all these markers on your lab -
TSH
Free & Total T4
Free & Total T3
Reverse T3
Thyroid antibodies (TPO and Thyroglobulin)

The most important thing you need to know about progesterone when you’re trying to balance your hormones naturally is that progesterone is directly linked to CORTISOL which is our stress hormone.

So the number one cause of low progesterone is physical or emotional stress in your body!

The main causes of these stressors are chronic infections, Epstein-Barr, gut infections, busyness, environmental stress, even too much exercise or an overly restrictive diet could be the cause of low progesterone.

In order to achieve what can feel like that elusive hormone balance, the best first step is to support your stress response! It’s so straightforward, really, but it can feel complex as we navigate the stressors of life.

You can take great adaptogens like ashwagandha or you can use things to help you balance your mood like 5-HTP or inositol. Anything that’s gonna keep your stress response low is going to help your progesterone levels.

Be sure to check out the stress management bundle below. These are the 2 herbal stress support supplements I use daily to help maintain a healthy stress response and support my progesterone. Not to mention they make me a happier human ❀ https://drshannynpearce.myshopify.com/products/stress-management-bundle

It can feel like our habits, routines and patterns are too ingrained to ever change. You are capable of so much more than you can think. Patterns CAN change, and it all starts in your thoughts. Retrain your body, reframe your life.

They have a lot of jobs so we have to make sure they are working properly! The worst way to check adrenal function is just checking cortisol in the blood.

We have to map it over 24 hours to see your adrenal pattern. This can be done through the Dutch hormone and adrenal mapping test. It’s supposed to be highest in the morning, come down slowly in the afternoon, and be the lowest at night before bedtime so you can rest well. One snapshot may come back looking normal, but what if you’re having trouble at other parts of the day? This is why we LOVE the Dutch test.
