📢 Important update from our friends at Rapid Credentialing! Be on the lookout for new Medicare cards!

IMORTANT MEDICARE UPDATE FOR YOUR FRONT DESK AND BILLING TEAM - New Medicare cards are being issued this year (sent out in March) to be effective as of 04/14/2026. These new Medicare cards have NEW Medicare Beneficiary ID for your patients. Approximately 1.3 million NEW MEDICARE CARDS were issued to Medicare beneficiaries. Here's what you need to do:

1. REQUEST copies of cards (even if it's the same one) from ALL Medicare patients
2. VERIFY that the CORRECT Medicare Beneficiary ID (Policy ID) is input into your software for billing.
3. CHECK REJECTIONS in your clearinghouse to review and correct all Medicare rejections that may have occurred from 4/14 to present due to invalid Medicare ID.

Lastly, don't forget that you may be due for Medicare revalidation! Reach out to the Rapid Credentialing team for assistance!
