Meet Olivia! 👋🏼

Olivia just joined the team this summer! She teaches Hot Pilates, and we’re so glad to have her here 🩵

Olivia’s favorite thing about Sterling is the community. 🫶🏼 “Everyone is so motivating and kind and I’ve made great friends.”

When she isn’t at Sterling, you might find her at work as an insurance agent, studying for classes, or hanging out with her boyfriend.

Her advice for newcomers? “Try every class and keep showing up. It can be easy to give up but showing up everyday is such a rewarding feeling!”

Class Spotlight on Yin! 🧘🏻‍♀️

Our yin yoga class is now 6pm on Sunday evenings, and it’s the best possible way to end your weekend/ get ready for your week. ☁️ It’s slow, peaceful, dreamy, and soothing.

Yin poses are held for 2-5 minutes (mostly) and target your body’s connective tissues. We use props like bolsters, blocks, and straps to keep the body fully supported.

The extended stillness provides time to focus on your mind, your breath, and being present in the moment. You’ll love it!

Spotlight on Pada Hastasana, or Hands to Feet Pose 💡

(Fun Sanskrit lesson: pada = foot, hasta = hand, and asana = posture)

This pose can be found near the beginning of our Original Hot Yoga class. It’s a deep forward fold that stretches the spine and hamstrings.

Your first priority in this posture is to bring your elbows to the backs of your calf muscles (not the sides!). From there, your hands could grip the backs of your legs (pictured here), or one day you might hold your heels in your hands and step on all ten fingers with your heels.

Once you have your grip, start to pull! You’ll feel stretching in your lower spine. One day your goal is to bring your upper body all the way to your legs, with no gap between your legs and your upper body.

But that doesn’t have to happen today, or even this year! Take the pose where it works for you, and allow your progression to gradually deepen with time and practice. 🤗

Meet Rusty! 🙌🏼

Rusty has been coming to Sterling for over eight years! 🔥 He’s had plenty of time to decide what his favorite thing about Sterling is, and here’s what he has to say: “I love the commitment to taking one hour to unplug, check in with myself, and loosen up. Having the ability to step away from work and the noise of the world recharges my batteries and gives me the opportunity to organize my thoughts for the day. “
 
His favorite class? “Although I get the most physically out of the Sterling 60 minute, the Pilates class is my favorite. The upbeat music, HIIT training, and hot room is really motivating.” 🎶🔥
 
When he isn’t at Sterling, Rusty enjoys traveling with his wife, Rachel, running with his dog, Chase, endurance training, working on old homes, and growing their real estate companies. ✈️🏃🏽🐶🏡

He’s got some great advice for newcomers to the studio: “Prioritize presence over perfection, keep coming back, and have fun.” 👏🏼

Meet Madison! 👋🏼

Madison is one of our n e w e s t teachers. She’s been teaching Hot Pilates for one month, after completing training with us this summer. ☀️
She’s a familiar face though—you’ve seen her working at the desk for the past two years, and now you get to see her at the front of the yoga room too 🤩

Madison’s favorite thing about Sterling is the people - “they make the place! My days get better after spending time with our clients and amazing staff!” 🥰

When she isn’t at Sterling, Madison loves spending time on the lake (especially wake surfing 🏄🏻‍♀️), traveling to new cities ✈️, and hanging with her friends every chance she gets. 👯‍♀️

Her advice to newcomers to the studio? Lean on the community! “Everyone wants you to succeed, so use the resources around you.”

Original Hot Yoga 🔥

This class is a set series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, performed in a room heated to 105 degrees, with 45% humidity.

It’s designed for all levels, meaning anyone can take this class and have a great experience. Each pose can be taken as little or as far as you want — you get to choose your journey.

Because it’s the same postures every class, you’ll be able to witness your progress easily—what a great feeling! 🙌🏼

We offer a 60 minute version of this class on the regular schedule, but keep an eye out for occasional 75 and 90 minute versions as well!

Just a handful of spots left for our two hour Hip Release + Yoga Nidra workshop! Act fast to save your spot 🔥

Erin will lead you through about 90 minutes of peaceful, calming, restorative yoga poses designed to gently and kindly stretch and release your hips, glutes, hamstrings, and psoas. You’ll use all the props - bolsters, blocks, and straps - to fully support your body in the poses. It’ll feel wonderful! ☁️

Then, about 30 minutes of restful yoga nidra, or yogic sleep, designed to get you out of your thinking mind and into your body—giving your brain and nervous system a chance to relax, reset, and restore.
