Did you know that Kentucky experiences one of the highest childhood cancer burdens in the United States? KCR 2014-2018 data show that rates of leukemia, brain and central nervous system tumors, epithelial tumors and melanoma and retinoblastoma are all significantly higher in Kentucky than in the US as a whole.

Please join the Kentucky Cancer Registry in our 2021 fundraiser to support Kids Cancer Alliance, Inc. (formerly Indian Summer Camp), offering a variety of camp and recreational activities year-around for Kentucky children with cancer and their families. Kids Cancer Alliance is dedicated to providing once-in-a-lifetime experiences where children with cancer and their families can grow, learn, build friendships, and most importantly…have FUN just being kids!

Your contribution, small or large, will positively impact the life of a childhood cancer patient! Thank you.

On average, over 220 new cases have been diagnosed each year. Leading childhood cancer sites include leukemia, brain and central nervous system tumors, lymphoma and epithelial tumors and melanoma. Please see report for detailed information.

On December 27th, the KY Pediatric Cancer Research Trust Fund board met with Governor Andy Beshear’s team to discuss continuation of our pioneering state-level childhood cancer research funding. A promise was made to continue funding at least at current levels of $5 million for the biennium...but we still need your help as the 2020 KY Legislative Session kicks off today. Stay tuned for details regarding our TWO 2020 Childhood Cancer Advocacy Days, supported by the American Childhood Cancer Organization.

Please mark your calendars to join us January 23rd and February 20th. More details to be posted in the next couple of days. RSVP by emailing jbloyd@acco.org so we can start securing legislative appointments.

Kids deserve equal access to research, with less toxicity, closer to home. Join us as we continue to prioritize our children fighting cancer and ask...why not kids?
