Are squats really the foundation to leg strength? Most will tell you that the back squat is the number one exercise you need to make your legs stronger, and make you more athletic. This article will explain why you shouldn't hold onto the back squat as the best exercise for you.

Yep, it’s still happening everywhere. Stretching teaches muscles to engage less in contexts where you need them most. If you want to have joint support, balance, strength and muscle functionality, the simple answer is that you move correctly. What constitutes correct movement? Well that’s where things get foggy, depending on who you listen to…

Here’s a basic rule of thumb that will help you figure out who actually knows what’s going on from who’s faking. Simply put, if the aftermath of the techniques a method uses doesn’t leave the body looking more symmetrical and decompressed, all the while showing movement improvements, then it’s going to do you more harm than good.

Seems logical right? If an exercise doesn’t balance, it’s essentially going to do the opposite of that over the long haul. Since most people don’t get decompressed or symmetrical with their training, they end up feeling bad and that’s what leads them to stretching.

When you see our results, just know that any stretch that we do is driven by a properly executed movement. Meaning that there is going to be muscular fatigue while the stretch is happening. That fatigue represents the replacement of tension on the stretch. When most people stretch, they don’t think about replacing that tension. They somewhat hopes the body magically recompensates. Word from the wise is that it doesn’t. Anything you don’t account for in training is going to bite you later on.

If you want to fix your body, move correctly. If you want to move correctly, FP is here to help.

“Elastic Recoil” “Tensile Reaction”

Always observing and learning from the goats. It’s interesting to see how the same mechanisms that improve athletic performance are similar to ones that get people out of pain.

Chasing a more sustainable body is a tough process, but man are the results rewarding.
