Healthspan vs. Lifespan: Lifespan refers to the total number of years a person lives, while healthspan reflects the quality of those years, how long one remains active, independent, and free from the limitations of chronic pain or disability.

At Wellward, our mission is to help patients not only extend life but enhance its quality through approaches that integrate advanced pain management, regenerative therapies, physical restoration, mental health support, and preventative care. We aim to expand healthspan so that the years gained are lived with vitality and purpose. Call (859) 275-4878 to learn how we can help you live better.

Mindy came to Wellward for a series of Stellate Ganglion Blocks (SGB). She was met with professionalism, kindness, and a team that truly listened. When she requested adjustments to her treatment, our staff not only accommodated, but even came in early before opening to ensure she received the care she needed before her flight. Mindy described her experience as β€œten stars” and was impressed by both the compassion and affordability of her care.

In this week's Wellward Warrior class, the group examined the difference between pain as discomfort versus damage, distinguishing acute pain (less than three months) from chronic pain (greater than three months). Dr. Danesh encouraged personifying pain to understand its role, explained how acute injuries affect the mind, and reviewed how nerve signals reach the brain. He outlined the healing process from inflammation and scar tissue formation to remodeling, noting how aging and unresolved injuries can lead to chronic pain. Next week’s session will focus on why some acute injuries become chronic and strategies to cope wi

πŸ”” Is your pain a bully or a messenger?
This week in our Wellward Warriors class, we explored the difference between acute pain (short-term, often tied to new injury) and chronic pain (long-lasting, often linked to barriers in healing).

πŸ‘‰ Key insight: Pain does not always mean harm. Sometimes it signals your body’s repair process.

We encouraged participants to personify their painβ€”like Eeyore or Oscar the Grouchβ€”to shift perspective and reduce its power.

πŸ’‘ Next step: Think about your own pain. If it were a character, who would it be?

What if your pain isn’t just a tormentor, but a teacher?

In this week’s Wellward Warriors session, we explored how great artists like Chuck Close, Matisse, O’Keeffe, and Lovis Corinth transformed personal limitations into groundbreaking art.

Their struggles remind us that pain can shape resilience, creativity, and even reveal hidden strengths.

✨ Challenge: Personify your pain. Give it a character. Ask: What has it taken from meβ€”and what has it taught me?

Your villain may just be the force that makes you the hero of your story. Come join us next Tuesday from 4-5PM during Dr. Danesh's Warrior Class to learn more!

🌱 Your story is far from over.
In our first Wellward Way class of the season, we explored how chronic pain shapes our identity, challenges our resilience, andβ€”unexpectedlyβ€”teaches us to grow.

Led by Dr. Danesh, we redefined healthspan vs. lifespan, and reflected on what pain has taken from usβ€”and what it may have given us too.

Every story has a hero. Every hero faces a challenge.
🧠πŸ’ͺ Who says yours can't have a powerful resolution?

Want to learn how to reshape your story? Join our next Wellward Way class or connect with our health coach, Mehran, for one-on-one support.

Margie came to Wellward searching for answers. From the moment she walked in, she felt seen, thanks to a warm welcome from our front desk and the attentive care of Dr. Bridges. He took time to truly listen and worked to uncover the root of her pain, not just silence the symptoms.

Our Story

We are a family owned and operated medical practice dedicated to easing the suffering from physical and emotional pain. Our clinic began as Pain Management Medicine in 1992 by an anesthesiologist and a psychiatrist, a husband and wife team. At the time, pain management was still a novel field in medicine and Pain Management Medicine was one of the first multi-disciplinary practices in Kentucky solely dedicated to the science of pain management.

In 2010, their son, Dr. Danesh Mazloomdoost joined the team. Since then, he has paved the way with the most innovative treatments in regenerative medicine to continue his parents’ legacy. He finds the root cause of pain and treats the source to optimize the body’s ability for health.
